How long were you tortured for before you were WFRd

I have a very obvious target at my back. Seems like they are giving me time to find something else BUT I will NOT leave without the package!

How long do I have left before I’m WFRd?

How long did you wait?

Also, I could pull the reverse card and go on another burnout leave but at this stage I wouldn’t mind the package and unemployment for a bit.

Pay and Benefits - Savings and Retirement site weird alert..

Anyone else log into their savings and retirement summary page lately?

I see an alert/info icon that says “Need to initiate a 401(k) rollover to another company? If you are looking to withdraw your savings, you may want to consider rolling it directly into another eligible employer plan or an individual retirement account (IRA). You can learn more here or request a rollover if you are ready.”

Certainly making me more nervous. Is this a sign? Anyone else see this when you log into your benefits?

My sleep pattern is completely messed up

Is anyone actually sleeping normally with all of this going on? I’m almost at the point where I just want it to happen tomorrow, whether I’m laid off or not, just so I can move on. This whole situation is taking a toll on my mental health, and that’s starting to spill over into my physical health too. I’m sure I’m not the only one feeling this way.

Let’s look at this objectively:

  1. Given the mix of signals: yes, there is a non‐trivial chance something will happen (at least in some business units).
  2. No, the rumor of an across-the-board, massive layoff next Tuesday is not firmly substantiated. It’s best treated as a possibility being promoted by this contributors who are scared or repeating rumors, not a certainty.
  3. So if we were to assign rough probabilities (just an estimate):
    A. Some layoffs in certain units in the near term: ~60-70%
    B. A broad, company-wide massive layoff next Tuesday: maybe ~30-40% or less
    C. The status quo (no major layoffs) is still plausible: ~20-30%

Target has been doing smaller, quiet moves all year. There isn’t a need nor desire to do something so massive that it further erodes consumer confidence, invites more scrutiny from additional boycotts, and possibly drives away top talent while paralyzing those who stay. More likely it will be continued, surgical cuts while bolstering/hiring for areas that leadership believes will drive positive change for shareholders.

I know it’s tough not to panic, but take a breath. You have zero control over what happens to you and your peers, unfortunately.

Bumping this from @bn+1k819dxn1.

Is this the week???

It's officially Tuesday... is this the week? Someone must know for sure, a lot of chatter on the site. Many large meetings were canceled and almost 60 days till end of year. I really wish the company would just do a yearly VSP instead of rifs. It would be easier on everyone who wants to stay another year or leave.

Any truth to another round of layoffs in Oregon mid November

Has anyone else heard that rumor from Oregon about more layoffs coming in mid-November? I’m trying to figure out if there’s any truth to it. The only thing I’ve actually heard from people I work with is that some teams are merging and a few folks are being moved around. That could easily explain some of the chatter.

So when I saw a Reddit thread claiming that a supervisor told a tech “more layoffs are coming,” I wasn’t sure how much weight to give it. There’s been so much speculation lately that it’s hard to tell what’s legit and what’s just people trying to fill in the blanks. Has anyone heard anything?

Mike Lyons and the current MC have destroyed $100 Billion in Market Value

It looks like Mike is throwing everything at tanking results so he can have easier numbers to beat in 2026. He can blame Frank and Bob for everything in 2025. That is why the Board should of never brought in an outsider. Guy or Bob Hau should of been Frank's successor for exactly this reason. Meanwhile, shareholders are left holding the bag. Doyle and the Board should all be replaced. The only job of the Board is to get succession right and this is a F-!!

What's the latest on OI rumors?

As an OI worker nobody has really said or heard anything at least in my little corner, albeit my team has never had layoff whispers or issues since I've been here, so now I'm really curious since OI has been mentioned a lot here.

Isn't OI quite a big sector? What kind of roles are we talking here?

Roche and Element HT- Real Threat?

For non technical people like me, is Roche a real threat that can replace illumina or is it a tech that can take some market share? Also, Element coming up an HT sequencer? Everyday the competition and news against illumina is getting bad and the stock couldn’t cross the 100$ mark. Even Grail stock was over 100$ today at one point. Are we losing it? Just an worried employee 😢

This is really taking a toll on my mental health

I spent the weekend looking over our finances, trying to figure out what we’d do if I’m affected. I’m the sole breadwinner in my family, and that’s never sounded as scary as it does now. My wife used to work as a teacher, and she could probably find a job if I hit the wall, especially with all the teacher shortages, but her pay wouldn’t be enough to support us and our two kids. I hate this feeling of not knowing what’s coming or how long we can hold on like this.

Folks in transition

I hear hints maybe some people that are in transition are not identifying themselves. I can understand there are business reasons both for and against this. But I also think maybe there is some fear, so it could be misunderstanding. Are there people who were in scope and already landed roles in the new organization, but will still transition out in 2026?

Musical chairs plays out daily at Booz Allen

Every morning, at 7 am sharp the game begins for Booz Allen employees. Count on it no matter what Booz Allen leadership preaches. So, when the music stops, if your left standing without a chair you'll be issued a layoff notice within days if not hours. There are many people inside the company desperately looking for new work. Unfortunately, if you are one of them. Your given an unrealistic amount of time to find new work before a layoff notice is issued to you.

Layoffs are incoming - Tricolor and First Brands will bring us down

Execs behind closed doors, anxiety in the air, red ink all over the place. Mark my words, Tricolor and First Brands is just the start, things will go South from here. Just my humble opinion, I do not have any insider info (aside from closed doors) to support this but we'll see how the rest of the year plays out.

Anyone else going through something similar to this?

In the past few weeks my boss has asked for several things that seem unusual:

  • a certain document she could pass off to the EOM/Acceleration team cuz they are trying to understand certain things for “future state white papers”
  • summaries of all projects I’m currently working on
  • list of priorities for 2026

All of this just seems very sus. Starting to think I’m cooked lol. Anyone else being required to do similar tasks?

I hope this is over as soon as possible

I have a feeling that announcing layoffs then making us wait and not saying when is intentional. They're creating a stressful atmosphere where everybody is constantly worried and some might even decide to quit if it goes on for too long. Or maybe I'm just being paranoid, but it feels intentional.
