downgrade instead of layoffs

When layoffs are not the option they downgrade you. Are you good enough to be principal or senior? Oh, you've made a mistake here :) sorry, pal, you are sw 3 now. Have nice day.

Labor unions

Many tech workers are starting to unionize in geographies that allow it, mostly at big companies like Google and Amazon. I'd be interested to know whether any F5 locations have unions and how much penetration they have.

layoff lists being requested tomorrow

A little birdy told me that there will be a global manager all--hands meeting tomorrow, where certain PE directors were asked to collect list of employees on their teams who are considered to be underperforming and those not meeting... — read more

5 billion dollars in revenue

How many more employees will be involuntarily terminated to make the 5 billion dollar in revenue goal? Since the time of the newest CEO, 1500 souls have been involuntarily terminated with only an increase of revenue of $800 million through 2023. Is... — read more

Sigh

20 years and tossed as trash

Product Release bar

Is F5's bar to release a product still just "good enough" or has it been lowered?

VP on Marketing is gone?

Was in an email chain with a VP of Marketing for brand, and now it has the classic auto responder…

"We are here to help each other thrive"

"We are here to help each other thrive" Might not have the words quite right but I remember this as part of what I recall of 5 things F5 employees were to do. I think it was on the monitors that were on each of the floors of the Seattle... — read more

My wish for F5....

Is that it's primary focus returns to engineering instead of social agendas

Commence 9-5 sharp, FLD can blow me

Two years of just drowning in work, pressure from product, gripes about quality and no raises and maybe none next year as well? This company is a career dead end.

Join f5 as network support engineer

I'm interviewing with F5 for a network support engineer role.. After seeing all the comments here, I'm running it this is a good time to join F5. Any comments/advices please?

I was laid off from f5 this week

I was part of the digital sales org and am still reeling from this, especially considiering I moved my family for this job. I've heard from other coworkers that they were laid off too but I'm not sure how many in total. Is this the f5 way?? Are sales... — read more

Quality is low

Don't you feel like it was a bad idea to layoff the qa people?

I'm finally ready to leave F5

Understanding what you don’t want in a career is just as important as knowing what you do want. It took me a while to realize this, but now that I have, I'm going to be out of here as fast as I can. I realized that I don't want to work 60+ hour weeks... — read more

Hiring Corruption

Have you noticed the corruption in hiring process? Like some engineer asks you a question and you realize the guy doesn't know the basics/ not able to move without you at all. Sometimes these people have really high definition like principal or... — read more

Mid year performance reviews

What’s this mid year performance review pilot program for parts of sales, Marketing, and HR that just wrapped up?

Does F5 sponsor/support any community events

There was a time when F5 sponsored things like the Seattle St. Patricks Day Dash and executives would actually participate in the event. Do FLD and other EVP just sit in their offices and count bonus paychecks and plan for the next layoff?

Good reason for layoffs

At least everyone should be happy that F5 used some of the money saved from trimming the fat to buy WIB. It's a bold step forward. I also appreciate that FLD came as close to saying 'yes' about April layoffs as he could.

Morale

Is it just me or is morale just tanking? It seems like everyone is in the dumps recently

EVP and CFO of F5 sold 2,500 shares of the company.

"FP is a key executive at F5 Inc, serving as the company's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. With a critical role in the financial planning and risk management of the company, P's actions and decisions are closely monitored by... — read more
