RTO with forced location tracking?

I was just chatting with a director here at the tower about f5 execs looking into location tracking software to enforce compliance with RTO. She mentioned that PwC has implemented it recently and I didn’t believe her at first but just researched it and found an article saying it’s true. Also, supposedly one of our board members got the idea because they are also on the board of PwC. This seems like a blatant violation of privacy, no?

You all realise that your laptop connects to the corperate network in the office? That is enough information to track if you are in the office, and for how long.

Very old news. Is half the company not attending all-hands or reading corporate emails? They’ve been tracking RTO for almost a year now. People have been fired for noncompliance. And now there are multiple apps running in the background on your corporate PC monitoring everything - all employees.

I've heard that some of the sales team(s) are indeed being monitored but not the entire workforce.

You do know they are already monitoring your activity on your corporate PC, right? And badging-in lets them know when you get into the office. So this is old news.

It's sad that this is what someone is paid to focus on, even if just occasionally. It's not an invasion of privacy if you're using their equipment.
