Thread regarding F5 Networks Inc. layoffs

Massive layoffs coming?

The rumor on the heels of the small layoffs last two weeks is that a big cut is coming in a few weeks. I do have confirmation that one team was wiped off by over 50% last week. Large cuts expected in product, engineering and even services and sales. My gut feel is that this round of cuts will impact XC/SDC more than other teams. Seems like an annual thing? Does anyone have additional insight? Love how this people first company likes to do it before the holidays. ;)

Schedule this annual event on your calendar for 2925 so that it doesn't come as a surprise

Talk with colleagues and maybe a good lawyer or two and get a labor union going while you still can. Call it a guild if it makes everyone feel better about it.

“ F5 stock doesn’t look terrible”

But it could always be better. Look at F5 job board and see what country they are hiring in.

F5 stock doesn’t look terrible so maybe this year no huge layoff and everyone here can unclench for the Holidays.

Run now. If not, you will be the one sitting at your laptop in the US getting let go. Then, when you go to look for a job after you will see your former job posted in HYD. It's not a fun experience.

"One was a former manager of mine who was great person."

Based on timing, I'm guessing it was a long-term employee with a million hobbies who was generally talented at them all.

Is it likely that one can be impacted by Oct layoff after > 0% salary increase?

Good managers are rare gems. Most are merely failed engineers without people skills. They create information noise, micromanage and "specialise" in Jira ticket "engineering".

Approx 100 employees were involuntarily terminated end of October 2022 so 2022 needs to be included in FLDs yearly "accomphishments". One was a former manager of mine who was great person.

There has been a layoff at this time of year nearly every year since FLD took over. The only exception was 2021 (and maybe 2022?) after he made a public commitment to not lay anyone off during the height of Covid.

More U.S. Based layoffs in favor of outsourcing overseas to Guad and India? Anyone know how many affected?
