The RTO is a genius productivity move. Here's why.

Take the feelings out of it and think. You can opt for remote and not ever be told you have to go to the office ever again. . . and just get on with your job. No more anxiety. Getting on with work. But you have to prove your value. OR Position to... — read more

Toxicity

On a scale of 1 to 10. How does everyone rate the current level of Toxicity at Dell? No HR trolls just honest answers. Lets have a poll. I myself am currently at a 9 maybe even a 10 and thinking of handing in my notice in the coming weeks. I just... — read more

Not thinning the herd

That's not the plan. It's much cheaper to offer a severance package than to let people quit on their own. What happens is the good ones are the first to quit; the poor performance ones linger and stay on. They don't want that. That is why there is... — read more

I'm surprised by the lack of media coverage

Usually, when any tech company has major layoffs there are countless articles about it. This has been true for Dell in the past as well. I don't know why there's barely any coverage this time. I guess people are getting desensitized to layoffs in... — read more

Is there any plan beyond layoffs?

What is happening with this company? Is there an actual plan behind these layoffs? At this point I can not discern any reason beyond basic cost-cutting, hitting the obvious and easiest target - employees. That may come back in the near future to bite... — read more

Constructive Termination

If you are hired with an understanding that you can work from home, and they fire you for failing to obey RTO mandates...with no other performance claims...hmmm. I'm no lawyer, and Dell won't let me expense a Holiday Inn Express...but it sure sounds... — read more

Be Cruel and Win

We are being treated badly by these companies; who is to blame? Us. We give them permission by how we vote. We are so conditioned to be wary of government tyranny and vote against every regulation that we end up accepting and promoting corporate... — read more

When will the time clocks be installed? Can we badge-in and go home or do we have to badge out? Can we badge in at 11:55 PM and again at 12:05 AM to count for 2 days? Can we give our badges to someone else to badge in for us? Can we badge... — read more

Layoffs seem location based

In my larger team, it appears that the people who were laid off were those who were remote and not within commutable distance to a Dell office... Honestly, mgmt may have been doing them a favor by giving them severance.

Another big swing and a miss from Dell
