I’m afraid of losing my job. And before some of you tell me all the useless things like “go look for another job”, keep in mind that we are all not in the same situation. I’m in a pickle now, and not in a position to look for something else. I hope to stay for another year until hopefully some life issues will resolve or at least become easier to manage, so I can start looking for other options. Until then, it's vital I keep the job.

I bed to differ with the fact that Dell will not hire you back. I was WFR'd in 2015 and was rehired in 2019.
I feel the same way. Keep in mind this site can have conflicting information and a lot of negativity and can amplify fear. That that can impact your mental state. It can be helpful to focus on what you can to. Take care of yourself. Hopefully you have absolutely nothing to worry about. You might also consider updating your resume, LinkedIn, etc now just in case. In the unlikely event you are staring down a bad situation it's better to do that kind of work now with a clear mind. In a best case scenario you won't have needed to do that exercise but it's a good professional practice to keep your resume and such periodically updated so it was time well spent regardless. Something to think about.
Then there are the running silent layoffs.
Make sure your leader knows your situation. There should be some compassion for humanity in all of this.
Some of the sleezier Dell managers and imps are on here wishing you bad. Hang in there as long as possible, don't over spend, start applying now as you can always turn down a gig. Dell is in a weak spot right now banking big on what appears to be a moneybpit bubble. The execs have cashed out a lot of stock which indicates they don't believe there will be exponential growth despite the hype.
most wish to retain their positions, so perhaps you'll be amongst them That being said, be prepared and prep your resume and spiff up your on-line presence
Yes i can personally confirm them. Unfortunately you are on the list. We thank you for your time with the company and wish you the best in your future endeavors you will not be payed for your vacation time and its true we can no longer justify giving severance to ex employess. We do however ,sincerely wish you the best.
The layoffs are confirmed and already approved. It's all in motion at this time.
