Topics regarding layoffs at Cigna

No one seems to know.

I think it’s safe to say that the people who once knew about upcoming layoffs have either been let go or are afraid to speak up. We are now left with a lot of speculation and the waiting period has become unbearable.

2/22 - is this the next big layoff date?

I’ve heard 2/22, 2/29 & 2/15. Does anyone have clarity around the next date? And those that were let go already how was it done? Was it normal 1:1 meeting or other titled meeting?

Burned out

I’ve been for a while, due to workload and stressful environment. I am now experiencing a new layer to it. I was panicking over losing my job. I’m now slowly transitioning towards not giving a sh-t about it anymore. And not in a good way. More like... — read more

Buckle Up

Cigna’s SG&A (Expense) ratio has been around 7.5% of revenue the last two years. 2024 is projected to be ~6.1% based on the recent earnings release. This represents a 20% reduction for a company where headcount is the largest SG&A expense.

Work the absolute minimum

Considering how we're being treated by Cigna, it's only fair that we pay the company back in kind. That means don't do anything other than what you have to. No extra effort, no staying late, no doing tasks that are not part of your job description... — read more

Warning about being contacted via LinkedIn

I know many at Cigna have been contacted by recruiters over that past week or so. Folks in that field are well aware of what is going on at Cigna. I know because one of my good friends is a technical recruiter. He was the person that warned me about... — read more

Names Being Removed from Cubicles

At the office today and there was someone walking around with a clipboard and removing employee names from cubicles. Not sure if the people quit, or if there was another layoff.

Any updates on 2/29?

Does anyone know anything about the layoffs for 2/29 and how bad they might be?

Cigna undervalues its employees

Pay, benefits, treatment...none of that is even close to the quality of employees Cigna has. That's at least true when it comes to my team, but I think that's the situation overall. When you add layoffs into the mix, it's no wonder so many people are... — read more

Directors, management, supervisors, grunts? Claims, case management, tech, legal? Name names if you want. This is going to be an interesting show.

Will MA be included in the next round of lay-offs?

Or will they leave that to be HCSC’s problem? After a while, it doesn’t make financial sense to get rid of some of the MA staff when you can just shove the financial burden of a lay-off on to HCSC.
