Is this going to be an interesting year as it relates to American Express layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

Is there a hiring freeze right now? I applied for two roles and radio silence but I meet most if not all of the requirements and what I do is pretty specific, so I can’t imagine it just being that much competition.

It is incredible how blatant ageism was in my interview at American Express. Karma will come back someday in same form for those who knowingly discriminated. Talented professionals of any age beware when looking at this company.

Has anyone been in this role that would recommend it, especially based on the current commission structure? I am highly interested but it seems like the repeated feedback is the money you are said to be making with commission is never achievable.

Capital one is laying off employees cutting depts by 50% in zoom meetings?! With a recession upon us, is anyone hearing any talk on our end? It’s giving me anxiety worrying about job security every day. This reminds me of 2009.

What do you current Amex folks think about the recent announcement to hire a bunch of tech people? I worked at Amex many years ago, well before Ravi, Squeri and a few other CIOs were there. I think Glen was the CIO when I left.
