There has been nothing about layoffs in the UK yet, and I have heard nothing on the grapevine about anything in EMEA. It has NOT started. Don't get me wrong, I want it to start, and I want to be on the list. Happy to take some cash and run. I'm... — read more

Layoffs in Ireland
Any news on this year’s numbers? Last year we heard of 113 employees getting the axe. Has the consultation already started?
What date? What to do?
Does anyone know the final date now? It’s getting very unproductive in the sense there is no clarity to do or to not do any work?
Layoffs will replace all US Citizens with L1B transfers
Master plan is to cut deep and manage by moving IDC resource to US using L1B loophole if the situation demands. Good luck folks.

"Fiscal 2026 Oracle Restructuring Plan" anyone else notice the wording change in the 10-Q?
Normally Oracle has a 2 year restructuring plan (e.g. 2022 and 2024 plans). However, in the latest 10-Q, this is now labelled as "Fiscal 2026 Oracle Restructuring Plan". Check it yourself at investor.oracle.com under SEC filings; top of page 11 of... — read more
Told I'm "on track" for a promotion
That was two years ago. Still waiting. Promotions are clearly frozen forever. Just wish they'd say it instead of dangling the carrot. I'll probably be gone before it ever happens anyway.
The silver lining of low pay
If you make good money, watch out. You're probably on the list. Me, I'm underpaid. So maybe they keep me around a while longer. Silver linings.
Selling off years of knowledge for a quick bump in the numbers
That's the only move Oracle management knows, apparently.
It's not going to be next week
The number is larger than we assumed, so it's going to take some time to figure things out and set everything up. This'll be another long wait.
If you work at a Oracle site in California where gas prices will get outrageous expensive
You should either transfer to the Nashville TN office where gas is cheaper or look to see if Oracle plans to open an office in Saint Louis Missouri and move there where gas prices are cheaper than they are in California. You probably won’t miss... — read more
RSUs can end up _costing_ money
Given that RSUs are W2 income & taxed as such, it is very possible that an RSU could end up costing money (lowering one's net income): when It is taxed when the stock is high (at vesting) and then later value of the stock could be so low that it is... — read more

Show of hands
Who else pivoted from being terrified of layoffs to hoping to be laid off just to get out of this mess in the last couple of months or so?
I received a layoff notice shortly before I got off work today. A person came
to my desk and identified herself as Oracle HR. She handed me a 4-page document. HR women told me it was a layoff notice she was handing me and said it is also referred to as a warn, whatever that means.
Severance in the US
Severance packages in the US have been consistent over the years: 2-4 weeks plus 1 week for every year of service, capped at 26 weeks. Plus one free month of cobra. Garden leave was a new benefit in 2025, which kept the dejobbed on payroll and... — read more
Lay offs
So, I see the layoffs but they been hiring 100s to a 1000 plus of Data Center Technicians recently? Maybe the smart idea is to just say hey I’m gonna transfer to Abilene as a Tech and then after the layoff say megamind something came up.
Why are we even alive?
Nothing going our way. So much has changed in an year, what happens next year? How can humans take revenge on AI?
How long before it happens here?
I’m sure you’ve seen the news about the Amazon debacle where AWS was taken down for half a day by an AI mistake. This will not be an isolated incident. Expect more of this as companies keep replacing experienced employees with flawed AI systems. Why... — read more

Doing layoffs on a Tuesday after a payday? I keep seeing it reiterated by people on Reddit
I've been losing my mind for months
Not anymore. We've been through round after round of layoffs, always knowing worse was coming. I care more about my sanity than this job, and definitely more than this miserable company.
