Separation Notice?

On July 2nd I received a letter from Follett stating that my 90-day "temporary" layoff was being extended. The very last line in the letter said that if I'm not called back in the next 90-day period I should consider myself permanently separated from... — read more

There are many reasons why Follett retail model failed

follett operated a retail shell game. They'd use the cost of acquiring a new store to offset the costs of existing stores. They'd heap re-model costs, management costs, training costs on the the new contract All of the labor came in the form of high... — read more

Even the VP's don't shop our stores

How can RM's and above have sales expectations of the managers when they dont even buy their own kids course materials in our stores? Many years ago my RM was sending their first kid to college, in conversation my rm told me they purchased their... — read more

Follett Change in Culture

I hear from long-time Follett employees, who are now gone, talk about how it was a great company years ago. What exactly was the turning point or person(s) that made the company turn into such a poorly-run, morale-defeating company? I'm not trying... — read more

Follett seeming to implode

I guess COVID-19 is the straw that broke the camel's back. Initatives to aid students during Rush are produced and implemented mid rush with feedback requests for their performance. Group kick off calls state the SLA isn't important so OMS orders... — read more

What are your predictions for after rush?

Layoffs and store staffing reductions? Store closures? Senior management jumping ship? Or do you suspect most big changes will happen after this full academic year, over the summer? Does Follett wait to see if more campuses reopen in the spring?

Refusing to address diversity and inclusion

I was part of the home office Easter M—acre in 2013. I see little has changed! Also hearing Follett is doing nothing about addressing diversity/inclusion/racism in the organization. Almost no non white people as directors/department heads/senior... — read more

Campuses know!

Heavy exploitation of store management

For stores in rush, how are things going?

Curious what sorts of sales you're seeing. RM said to expect a 30% drop in text sales. Does that seem realistic? Really worried about how things are going to look financially after rush. Do we expect people (ASMs, PT) to be laid off again?

Whoever contracted wit thi temp agency should be fired

With COVID restrictions the temps only need how to speak and count from 1 to 10. Greeter at the door. Let 10 people in. Backdoor/curbside pick up. Last 5 digits of order #. Dont need to get versed in ct and soda and pos. Takes over a week to go thru... — read more
