I was with Follett almost 20 years. They were closing down my store. I was offered Two weeks severance or I could take a position at another store. Don’t hold your breath. I always thought there’d be a big severance package but those days are long gone.

I got it in the Easter M—acre of 2013, can’t remember the amount, I was there 7 years, finally made it to the 3 week paid vacation mark

After more than 20 years, follett lawyered up rather than pay severance. Not that the severance (at the time of the massive layoffs) was anything to write home about. I think it was 1 week's pay for every 2 years with the company.
Don't count on it. Since 2013 this company has been aggressive and brutal when it comes to employees.
To the folks who hope to ride this out and remain with follett; let this sink in. MORE than 20 YEARS with this company. I was run out. Not a dime in severance. More than 20 stellar reviews, too many follett values citations to remember, frequent promotions and it was all gone in a few brutal weeks. Not a penny in severance. This is a terrible company.

Severance? They can't even pay their vendors.

They do offer a severance to certain individuals, but the criteria is all over the place. Just in my department alone, (to remain anonymous lol), one person with seven years who was recently laid off, "allegedly" got a severance package. Somebody else in the same department with 20 years got nothing. Unfortunately this is all based on hear-say and it cannot be proven.

It depends on the situation and job classification, as well as years with the company. You need to be 'invested' for a period of years after which a percentage of each month's pay is tallied. Unfortunately it's not going to be a lot, if you're lucky a couple thousand dollars unless you're outside the operations realm and are corporate based. YMMV

I think it depends on the situation? I remember the ASM layoffs came with some sort of severance... nothing great from what I heard.
