On July 2nd I received a letter from Follett stating that my 90-day "temporary" layoff was being extended. The very last line in the letter said that if I'm not called back in the next 90-day period I should consider myself permanently separated from the company. So I wonder if they will send another letter confirming my final separation or will they just assume I will fade away?

Talked with someone who worked at HO, sent home to work, got laid off, still hasn’t heard a word, but still has company equipment!! Guess they aren’t worried about the little things.
You've got a higher chance of getting struck by lightning than getting a call back. Move on.
Or, trying to change your status from ‘recall’ to temp as your hours get cut so they don’t have to unemployment.
Check with HR, what a joke!!!
Once you are out of the building, they could give two sh ts about you.
Move on, there are better places to work at.
Whaaat?????? You should have started blasting out resumes the day you got the "temporary" lay off. Although your loyalty is very admirable, you're an id–t. The company is in dire straits and you're hanging onto to this beacon of hope that maybe they will call you back. Gimme a break.
Not worth the stamp.
Yes forbid that HR would be doing due diligence and letting people know.
I would check with HR. They should communicate in a formal letter and also pay out unused PTO etc.
For a company noted for how they treat their front line workers not sure what else you are expecting?
For the rich Follett Family and the cracker jack senior management team, you were lucky to have a job.
