What is happening with Accounts Payable?

I've emailed three separate AP people (store support rep, vendor rep, and vendor rep's supervisor) going back as far as 12/15 about an issue, and not one single one has so much as responded to the email, let alone fixed the issue. Does no one in this... — read more

Temps making more than Managers

My 10 year management member approached me on New Years Eve and asked if it was true that the temp workers were making more money than her. Even though I completely hate it, I had no reasonable response. I could not look her in the eyes and justify... — read more

Behind with payments - wonder how the things will unfold?

One has to wonder how long they can last with being so behind in payments to their suppliers. I’m looking for a bombshell announcement any day. It’s millions of dollars and I don’t understand how it still hasn’t happened? I’m sure it can’t last... — read more

Does anyone at Follett still use Adobe Flash Player for videos? It's gonna be discontinued in a couple of weeks after an almost 16 year run.

Follett's sad year

2020 was really bad and I think 2021 may turn out to be even worse. We'll see but it does not look good.

The Only Response to This

WESTCHESTER, Ill.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Follett Higher Education Group today announced that online orders across Follett’s 1,250 ecommerce websites increased by 93% YTD as a result of consumers shifting spending from in-store to online since the early... — read more

Several positions opened at McHenry. Nothing but ASMs and Part time roles on the internal career site. Saw another post and confirmed the exempt/non-exempt options are gone. In mine-craft, the bean counters should be cubed. Or maybe spawn some... — read more

Follett Access

Anyone have an update on the portfolio stores Follett is leveraging? Many of those campuses had to make a decision this month to move to Access or Follett would pull out of the contract.

Your layoff was needed..........

What a kick in the ass

Been with Follett 15 years, haven't gotten a raise in God knows when. In 2007 was an ASM, Got "dumbed down" ever since, I don't even have a "team Lead" title, I'm just a PT employee. This is my second time "furloughed". Filed for UI for the second... — read more

Just shows!

It really shows the true nature of true culture when the corrective action rollout is marketed as improving overall morale. What a crock.

USPS

Did Follett get hosed on their new contract with UPS, unaware/ uncaring of package limits, guessing $ surcharge above x amount daily, so now we have to ship SODA orders with USPS?

Cutting hours?

What day is it happening this week? When should we expect to see the “Mandatory HR update” emails in the morning at the stores, and then the glum voice of the overpaid GVP intoning that “Due to sales not meeting our plan...”

Cutting store opening hours

So, as a salaried manager, if I'm told to reduce the store hours how does this affect my position? I'm still supposed to work 40 hrs? Or what are the alternatives? Before anyone says just leave & look elsewhere, believe me, I am. I am just curious... — read more

Get rid of the corporate fleet of cars.

When the induvidual lease is up give the option to buy it or turn it in. Then Follett can save money on insurance and hundreds of leased cars. They have gotten a free ride ling enough. Use the savings to to pay us and the vendors.

ASMs now being hired through staffing agency?

What are the reasons and implications of this? This sounds super sketchy to me. I'm sure they'll tell us it's to "take the burden off SMs" or some BS like that, but knowing Follett, I feel like there are more nefarious reasons.

I was told by my rm that if your store does less than 1m (some strange calculation they are using, not based on what you did the previous fy) you are looking at 1 ft employee and 1pt at 50hrs a month (approx 12hrs a week). Has anyoneelse heard this?... — read more
