Thread regarding Follett layoffs

This S*&*^ Show is still going on?

Just checked this board on an a whim. I'm a recovering past Follett Employeee. It sure feels good to not be there anymore. From what I'm seeing on this site for very good reason. I'm deeply saddened by the fact that this once great company is truly in the toilette. I can understand all of the angst that these people feel. Please do the right thing for yourself and leave this miserable, failing, abusive company to the jackals known as the Follett Family. There is truly is a special place in Hell for these avarice people.

Ever have a tooth pulled? You can't stop playing with the "socket" where the tooth used to be. follett is kind of like that. It hurt, it was infected, it stank so it had to go. Yet, once you're pain free, the smell and the tooth are gone, your tongue still feels for it.
This forum is open to those, who beyond all reason, stay with follett. Those who are waiting for their number to come up. And those who remember the pain and the stink are welcome, too.

"Recovering past Follett Employee" LOL, funny yet true. I'm in the same boat. I didn't stick around long enough to find out just how bad the company was, didn't need to, my former SM was more than enough to create a completely toxic environment. Stayed for a year and a half and left one month before Fall rush. That SM left about a year after I did and surprisingly enough about a couple of months later the University that gave Follett the contract for so many years announced they weren't going to renew the contract and went with Akademos - and this was a large 4 year state school. Would not be surprised one bit if part of the reason Follett lost that contract was because of the SM. I've never seen a manager get so many complaints from bookstore staff, customers and faculty. And yet, nothing ever really happened to her, probably because she was following the Follett Values of treat your people like sh*t.
