Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Your layoff was needed..........

While dozens of bottom line worker bees (like me) are online 7 days a week seeking new employment, collecting unemployment benefits (which will soon run out), struggling to pay for food, utlities and presents under the tree, here's a list of just one of the departments and the hard workers who are CURRENTLY ON PAYROLL.... (THIS IS JUST ONE DEPARTMENT!!!!!)

  • Sales Manager
  • Sales Supervisors (yes, plural)
  • Vice President, Operations & Distribution
  • Sales Director
  • Director of Category Management
  • Manager, Curation/ Vendor Partners
  • Manager, Fulfillment
  • Vice President, Sales Operations
  • Sales Operations and Program Development Manager
  • Project Support Coordinator
  • Business Operations Analyst
  • Sales Development Consultant

These are all essential positions. Without these hard workers, who would be there to support, analyze, curate, fulfill, direct, manage, supervise and develope? The best days are when they are all together for a meeting. They usually order lunch (on the company tab) and leave the sc-aps for the worker bees.

I want to thank you for all the support you have provided to the supporters of all the supported projects. Without your support and the support of the other supporters there would be no support at all. It is this level supported support that supports us all. You have our support.

I'm a Project Support Coordinator. Meaning, I don't actually do the projects, I coordinate the support of the person doing the project. When you walk past my desk, I am "always on" my computer. That doesn't necessarily mean my computer is "always on." My job is vital to the growth and development of our department. Without me, nobody would coordinate the support of the person doing the project. I am Follett.

Very well said, I never thought of it that way, unless you're the one getting laid off. That's okay though 'cause sh– rolls uphill too. hehehehehe!

More simply; once you've been asked to select who is laid off, you'll never be laid off again.

Working thousands of miles away in a completely different industry I noticed this seems to be a trend.
Lets layoff or outsource/offshore the entire workforce and hire more Vice Presidents of strategic transformative agile innovative co created alignment scientists with an extra dose of scrum
mastery and sales enablement of customer hub data mining with an executive Vice President of content creating to oversee it all.............

Businesses now have those in senior management and those who are not. Two class
System.......

I would have to agree. The number of “hard workers” in each division is just not needed. I believe we are still at full capacity at the VP level and above. With a VP position posted to be filled. You have every right to be livid.
