Check the calendar of your division's first level supervisors and their boss this week using Team's Scheduling Assistant. Then you will know when to be ready for the call.
This could give you a hint
If you know who your HR rep is then use the scheduling assistant to see how many 40 min meetings they have scheduled. It’s happening now. Someone else wrote it few minutes ago, I've just bumped it for info. Seems like a good tip, though i still... — read more
Be Positive
There are so many negative and angry posts on this forum. Admittedly they are by the same two or three people that were fired several years ago and who keep repeating the same old tired complaints. But just remember, for the rest of us, we're all... — read more
Update
I just want to start this thread to keep ourselves updated on how things are going. As for the ESOI, the latest is for the notifications to be complete by the end of the day on Wednesday... but nothing has happened yet except for a few EOIs.
Let the games begin..
I'm not looking forward to Monday morning. Hope HR moves fast.
IT “security patch” for those being laid off? Seems sketchy to me...
Did anyone else have their computer crash due to an IT Avecto Policy “security patch”? It was supposedly rolled out globally, but I suspect it was sent to those who are going to be sacked next week... Also, why on earth would IT not test this new... — read more
Next Time Around
For a decade plus, every time leadership needs big layoffs to balance gross mismanagement / missed opportunities / help with optics or messaging they go ahead and hammer exploration. This time around it seems 90% of exploration will leave, including... — read more
Who will support the coffee shops?
Who will support the coffee shops now that the exploration group is going to be decimated? It’s tough finding oil when you are sipping lattes for seven hours a day discussing how ‘busy’ you are. I guess that’s why COP has to consistently go out and... — read more
If you're laid off is there anything you're going to miss about COP?
Other than my coworkers (and not all of them) I can't think of a single thing.
Cancun
I’m hearing the ELT had a “leadership” meeting in Cancun this week, they took their fleet of private jets down there with their families? True?
I hope layoffs are not delayed
Here's the thing, people who'll be laid off have already been decided. Nothing will change that and a few extra days will mean very little to them (or us, I might be among them.) But any delay means that every single one of us has to go through days... — read more
Now Monday February 22 ?
Hello, welcome back, now, stay home forever in your freeze damaged home, we no longer have any value for you. But, SPIRIT values!!
Any news for Houston?
60% of Houston is without power and a growing number of people are without water. Do layoffs still happen this week?
How do you overcome uncertainty?
Getting laid off would be easier to bear if this company was a little more transparent. I decided not to stress about it and accept my faith, amor fati, because I can’t influence the outcome of layoffs in any way. Fortunately, the severance pay is... — read more

Given what’s happening in Houston right now, are they proceeding with TEAMS layoffs today?
ConocPhillips handled notifications wrong and should be held accountable!
Sending the WARN out the way they did was correct. But did they truly notify the individual that they were being laid off? No they didn’t. As a matter of fact I would venture to say that they have cause mental anguish and untold suffering to... — read more
COP Alaska's Willow Project Stopped
No need for 50% of the AKBU now. Time for you to line up for layoffs like the rest of us.
The Annual Hunger Games
Good luck to all you salty dogs who read and post here and think you're so much smarter and cooler than everyone else.
Monday
If I’m sitting at home without electricity will they still be able to lay me off? Is it true all ELT members have back-up generators at their houses, paid for by the company?
Good Luck Everyone!
Hope next week goes well for everyone, but in reality we know that many will be affected. Regardless of the outcome, we all know that losing or keeping a job is not going to be constant, and change will come again for better or worse. Our profession... — read more

Will be a battle between “leadership” wanting to get the layoffs over and done with (it’s not easy for them, of course it’s massively harder on us) and Facilities wanting to keep employees safely at home while Houston streets turn into a graveyard... — read more
If you could sum up COP leadership in one sentence - go!
Two that came to mind; Layoffs will continue until morale improves looking for someone to blame for the blame culture.
Back to the office?
Is ConocoPhillips back to the offices in Houston? If not how many are still working from home.
Musings
I heard that Concho had 12 (twelve) supply chain people. Is that true?
VCIP announced!
The ELT actually listened to the advice posted on here! Maybe they are starting to listen. I have hope for the new ConchocoPhillips!
Positive news...
VCIP announced tomorrow. Let’s just hope it’s not to low....
Great news!!!
NONE of the Brits working at CoP will be laid off!! Cushy management positions have been found for all! Only colonials will be affected! After all, with absolutely no CoP assets in Great Britain or the North Sea it makes sense to get rid of L48... — read more
Snowball fight Monday morning?
They can’t let you go if you aren’t in your office, besides it’s a fun way to go out. Or maybe you can take that HR zoom call while beeming your friend with a nice packed slush ball. Maybe Champ can join in the fun and show his SPIRIT values. — read more
Forget jeans day we need
What themes should we have for this week and next? For camaraderie. Example is avoid eye contact with everyone day. Babble like a baby day
Its not what we do it's how we do it!
When COP does layoffs we make sure to keep everyone anxious and in the dark while patting ourselves on the back for our transparency and care. Not sufficient waiting for a pandemic, we must wait for Houston to freeze over. Snow Problem! Happy... — read more
