I was too naive when I thought I would make a career here. That was my wish and at first I really wanted to work in this company but then the reality hit me. Admittedly, I managed to gain some new skills. Now my only goal is to get out of here as soon as possible.
My goal was to be employed for an average company while pursuing a career with one of the bonafide energy companies. It didn’t happen and now I can’t get the COP stench off me.

We continue working in a dying industry because we are over-compensated relative to the value we create. We all know this to be true.
This company, like every other E&P in the world, will continue to wither and downsize it's workforce in response. Management knows this downward spiral cannot be reversed. only delayed. Layoffs, asset sales, and acquisitions of weaker players is nothing more than cannibalization to survive another day.
