For now, I’m safe, but I do not consider myself very lucky. I guess we'll wait and see what will happen in the next round under much more difficult working conditions.

Don’t waste time thinking about why, as it is not logical and has little to do with ones technical talent. Walk out with your head held high. Don’t think of the ones who stay as ‘survivors’ rather they are prisoners left with a sentence of working for a less than mediocre company that wont be around in a few more years

Seems lots of talent was shown the door but plenty of deadwood and great examples of bad “How” survive.

I for one am very happy to have survived.
And now the market seems to be picking up, the situation for those who are left is looking quite bright.
Up here we did indeed use it as an opportunity to get rid of some dead wood, so I don't think my job will get much harder since they were not really contributing very much anyway,
