AND the stupid POS is getting a package!
Yay, now we don’t have to suffer his stinky breath anymore.
He was so good, he wasn’t replaced.
If he was the smartest guy in the room no wonder things have turned out this way.
Like the CoS calculation, his “consistency software” was gamed to create value where none existed. Hence billions in value were actually lost (deepwater, especially Gulf of Mexico, but does anyone remember “sure thing” Angola?)
We’re now doing the same thing with learning curves in unconventionals.
Please explain how it was game changing and quantify the value add. We would all like to understand. You seem to know something, so please illuminate. He was at best an empty suit from all I ever saw. But I am open to your insight. Would be nice to know.
His call-to-fame was his creation and development of consistent pattern software for exploration reservoir categorization. This was extremely innovative and game-changing.
Unfortunately, after this, and the subsequent accolades, rewards, and recognition, he decided he no longer needed information from fellow humans. His next job (his first supervisory job in a field he was not a subject matter expert) highlighted his arrogance and refusal to listen, and the rest is history.
His blind acceptance of the Gulf of Mexico Wilcox in many ways was the start of the downfall of ConocoPhillips.

Does this mean The Professor “Decision Risk Chief” guy is out, also? Can we finally end this biased brain-think that is used to justify decisions already made?
MF is brilliant, but, that said, his brilliance resulted in an arrogance such that he no longer listened, learned, and adjusted his thinking. The best example of this was Deepwater. There were smart people telling him it was a lie, but he ignored them.
I guess you don’t know how this site works if you think you can tell someone is replying to their own posts
finally!
The same person responded to their own post three times.
An axe to grind OP?
He's the opposite of King Midas; everything he touches turns to s***.
About 10 years too late. “Heck of a job, Foxy!”
Using the words of Janet Jackson - What have you done for COP lately?
