Were the competitors more generous?

Does anyone know if competitors were more generous when it comes to layoff packages?

As usual, striving to be mediocre. I think we have achieved that goal so many times in so many ways. Close the Gap.

And if you were not let go you got nothing!
Be happy that the company decided also pay out VCIP for everyone before they left. They could have easily delayed it or made it a lower number.
And look at the boards for the other companies, most had zero bonus this year and last year.
So overall COP is pretty generous.

At the end of the day what difference does it make? You get what you get. Look forward.

Shell USA SVS paid three weeks per year served (78 weeks max).

BP paid 1 month for every year of service and 1.5 months per year if you had joined before 2009.

Chevron gave the same 3 weeks/service year, but they also cover health insurance for a full year.

Oxy gave Anadarco folks 1 year regardless of years of service. Pioneer did 1.5 years regardless of years of service.

ExxonMobil laid off people based on performance in the first wave and gave 3-months severance (irrespective of service) and in the second wave gave 4-months of severance for those who volunteered to retire (irrespective of service).

  • information collected from various layoff boards.
