Any news on recent layoffs? It’s been quiet
Now is HR’s time to shine.
Citi HR is up to the challenge of massaging the VOE data to make it look as positive as they can. Sure, there’s dissension and rightfully disgruntled employees but I believe in HR’s ability to deliver hard core spin control on the matter. YOU CAN... — read more
False Manager
Does anyone else have this situation? I’m a C12. According to HR, I report to a C14. But said C14 told me that I really report to one of her C13s. This happened right after all the Q1 layoffs. Just doesn’t sit quite right with me.
Why certain banks are closing branches?
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/yourmoney/bank-closures/article-13908061/amp/citibank-chase-banch-branch-closures.html Please don't conclude Citi is in trouble, I believe Citi is too big to close or fail and it's not alone... — read more
A toxic environment is more likely to change you than you are to change it.
The question now becomes, are you in one now. If so, then its time for you to leave.

What are the requirements for interviewing candidates?
Curious to know, what are the requirements for conducting interviews. Do all rounds need to have a panel of more than one interviewer? Can one interviewer only be present at first round stage or does Citi require more than one person on the panel? — read more
Citi has an opportunity to bolster employee morale and it’d cost them nothing.
They could sell it as “things are tough and this year raises and bonuses will be nil but we can do this, if your role allows it, you can work from home 100%”. It would not cost them a single penny, they can save on bonuses and raises and still... — read more
Office Work
What's your malicious compliance method for your office day? I have put my days in stone. If theres a f2f on my non-office day, I won't be there. No flexibility from you, none from me.
Citi needs to start using that ace up their sleeve…..IF they have one.
All of the heavy hitters I know from tech, to project managers and managers have all said the same thing. They’ve had far more than enough, they are…..DONE! True, they need a paycheck but not necessarily a paycheck here. They are not waiting for the... — read more
Am I going to be made redundant?
In the UK and yesterday, manager scheduled an ad-hoc meeting. Is this the 'you are being laid-off' call? Has anyone experienced this to shed some light. I want to be prepared. Thank you.
Data management and Risk controls
I can’t believe Citi is struggling for the past few years with data management. https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202409/1320221.shtml
Loan layoff question
I have a loan against my retirement plan. my position maybe eliminated if so will the loan will be satisfied with balance on the retirement plan ? Or would the balance be deduced from the package?
An addition to Jane’s “train” speech.
If you get on the wrong train, get off at the first stop. The longer you stay on, the more expensive the return trip is.
How to sharp your skills and keep improving while working in citi.
No ranting please because we have plenty of them on the board. Some of us are stuck in Citi while job market is kind of bleak. As the title suggested, how can we utilise the resource to learn and get better? I am trying to understand the business... — read more
Failure by design.

What are the best depts in tech to transfer to at Citi? Is internal mobility worth it right now?
I work in tech and my area/department is highly dysfunctional with awful toxic managers. Is there internal mobility any use or would it put me at the lower end of the totem poll for layoffs? Thanks!
Major key to leaving…Ignore the naysayers. (Taken from another post. )
Another major key is to 100% ignore the naysayers. Naysayers often wish they too had the courage to leave but they don’t. So they try to sell that you are stuck and you’ll never find a job ever. “Citi is the best as its ever going to get for you so... — read more

Today’s trivia question. . .
(. . . regarding the most recent heads of data transformation. . .) Anand, Japan, Ash what do all three have in common?
VOE - are they really anonymous? Can your manager know who left which message?
As title suggested, and please no rant.
Anyone else contantly living in fear?
Not knowing when the tap on the shoulder will come for the next layoff?
WFH vs. RTO
Don’t mistake presence for performance. Showing up is not a sign of commitment or contribution. It’s an act of compliance. What matters is the value people create, not the place they inhabit.

Just another in a long list of MD leaving Citi.
You’d think the board would have expressed some concern to Jane by now as to “why” so many are leaving. https://www.bankingdive.com/news/citi-chief-accounting-officer-johnbull-okpara-leaves-scally-walsh/726743/

Why were so many meeting canceled this week?
It seems weird to me. Is it due to VOE, layoffs, or what? Usually this happens when something is up around here.
People are delusional. Neither HR nor management cares about this site.

Break the norm. Many companies want you to sacrifice your time and health in order to progress.
If your manager thinks like this, then its time to move on.

If you continue, your 401K might be in Peril
Citi stock might go down further for next 2-3 years as Citi still struggles to rebuild itself. Better to Quit now when stocks are good and take your 401K to IRA's.
