Did Citi just announce end of DEI?

Amen.
True. Every non-white person should always automatically be hired for any job they ever go up for always. If they are ever turned down, its because they are not white. If anyone says anything otherwise, then they are completely racist and should be immediately fired and no company should ever hire them ever.
We are all aware that anytime a non-white person does not get the job its only because they are not white and no other reason. It certainly can’t be because they are not the most qualified.
DEI is anti-Semitic because those running such programs affirmatively DENY the fact that Jews have historically been EXCLUDED from many jobs, just ask Erika. They also mis-characterize Jews as White whereas nobody who is Caucasian shares that sentiment. Big difference between white-passing and being accepted as White.
DEI pits a favorite set of minorities against other historically excluded minorities.
Why not just provide the resume’s to the hiring manager. On the resume’s before you give it to them, you blank out the following: Name, S-x, race, age.
Call it resume #1 and the next resume #2 and so on. The hiring manager has nothing to go on except the skillset listed and job history. From the stack given to them, they select which are the best resume submission they want to interview. Its from that point, after the selection is chosen, its reveled the name, s-x, race and age. Maybe even don’t even let the hiring manager know until the day OF the interview as the interviewee enters the room is it then revealed. This would be fair, wouldn’t it?
OR
Would some white people NOT like it because they’d lose their hiring edge by being white?
Would some black people NOT like it because they’d lose their hiring edge by being black?
Would some asian people NOT like it because they’d lose their hiring edge by being asian?
Every minority, gender, persons of age benefited from DEI. DEI existed because of the racist minds of whites.
Whites assume that if someone is a minority, they don't have the intelligence to do a job or shall I say a high powered job. They won't look at them.
DEI was designed to give everyone a chance, regardless. I find it interesting that whites took it as unfair to them when they have had everything and every chance for better life just because they are white. But being white and having white privilege, you will never understand.
DEI is poison and Nepotism is also poison. We have both.
"White fragility refers to feelings of discomfort a white person experiences when they witness discussions around racial inequality and injustice."
I see why Jane said they will NOT tolerate discrimination and harassment. This thread is really showing people's true color. I've been lucky to have 2 supportive white male managers a Citi, who practice DEI before DEI was a thing. I have seen and experience more racism from white female and Indian managers at Citi
How can I report my incompetent director manager? He is not supporting employees growth opportunities and also trainings.
I definitely want to raise my voice against my manager who was my peer earlier and was promoted mainly due to DEI.
OMG I am a middle aged white guy and I think your boo hoo bullsh-t is pathetic. Just like Dear Leader, poor me poor me so unfair so unfair. You certainly don't speak for me, I've been able to compete and make my way in this world just fine without being a whiny little si--y pants.
Why don’t they just make a law to state that all white people are the source of everything evil and wrong in the world. Every disease, economic downturn, war, crime and sin can be solely lain ONLY at the feet of white people who should never be absolved of anything ever. Any new born child that is white will, by being white, automatically be considered when grown also the worst person in the history of the planet.
Just come out with this global law and get it over with.
As a manager I was always held to the DEI standard. And I always questioned it. I don't see color, or s-x, or any of that. My biggest concerns were getting the right candidate and a person that would work well with the existing team. The right person for the job. period. DEI made that tough. There were a few times I had to hire someone to check a box than the perfect person. It should always be about talent and fit. And policies to circumvent racism or s-xism is the tail wagging the dog. You have to have hiring managers solid enough that they aren't concerns in the first place. Lots of people have jobs around here that shouldn't. Or at least there are people we should have hired instead but didn't. When you are forced to hire someone based on a criteria that isn't about talent, but is about race and s-x, isn't that s-xism and racism?
The Incompetent, Unskilled DEI who were hired or promoted will now be collecting Welfare Checks. LMFAO!
DEI policy was pushed, shoved down our throats with the excuse of counter-balancing Caucasian advantages.
What instead happened is companies hired or promoted Incompetent or Unskilled employees that caused the companies' work products to decline and be inferior.
There’s a need to demonize the white male, it fulfills a need. It’s not going anywhere anytime soon. If failure occurs or there are some short comings, it provides a readily needed excuse to keep from looking inward. A safe haven if you will. A safe space I guess for those who needed it. So you can see, it does serve a purpose.
It's always been a white man's world and they couldn't understand what DEI was about.
A white male or white female will always have the upper hand. They know it and want to keep it that way.
Learn your history, folks.
Fixing so-called “under-representation” is an affront to individual performance and another excuse for excluding other minorities like Asians and Jews.
Amen
Manager hire based off of merit and not DEI…..riiiiggghhhtttt.
I guess hearing a manger say “others may be more qualified but its been expressed that a female hire is more desired for the role” doesn’t mean anything. The “others” that were more qualified spanned different races and no, I’m not a white male.
@bc+1jmjkg4rt not any different from the ranks of white old men that may have management experience (which they weren't born with, they got it just the same) but just eat up a paycheck, laugh all the way to the bank, and do nothing all day, all year. And somehow you need 4 other white old man to look after each other's "work."
I’ve done extensive work on DEI initiatives and noticed how ignorant folks are. The white male became insecure and has done everything to reverse this movement. Managers hire base on merit not DEI. Most females, POC and legal immigrants works extremely hard to earn recognition, promotions etc. Don't assume you know what others do to deserve a well earned raise.
Are caucasian males still considered the source of everything that is evil in today’s time? or is that still considered the status quo? Does anyone know? I haven’t been told as of yet which way to lean on this issue going forward.
Post ID: @b0+1jmjkg4rt That's Not what I've seen. There were many incompetent, unskilled DEIs who were promoted to C15 and C14.
Citi is still rife with toxic woke feminism. People in Snr positions who were once tellers. Joke of a place and still woke of a place
its time for others to raise voice with HR and management. If you feel that your peer just got promoted because of DEI when you had skills and working hard without any recognition.
Its time to show your voice. Raise the concern for a promotion or a position change with elimination of DEI.
The fact is, DEI was never enforced at C15 level and below, specially the C13s, C12s. Yes, you have to have diversity while doing interviews. But the new hires show no diversity. You continue to see C14/C15 managers having 90% or more of their employees of the same race. Maybe there are many MDs benefiting from DEI. But at C15 level and below, it was quite the opposite.
Happy . You can layoff these people now. Some people got promoted in name of DEI even if they don’t deserve it.
DEI ruined the careers of many white young men. I am glad it is gone.
I wonder if she was a DEI hire herself.
Such clowns…. Was it really absolutely necessary to do it? 😂 I don’t think it was effective to begin with but removing it so unapologetically for god knows what reason speaks alot about the world we are heading to
Yes
