Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Flat Compensation Year

It is super frustrating having to tell my team that compensation was flat this year but our CEO received a crazy big raise.

Share vesting example:
1 year employment = 10 shares
5 years employment = 100 shares
10 years employment = 1000 shares

or whatever number….anything bets nothing at all.

They could give us shares that vest too, non-cash comp.

Jane is another DEI clown who set metrics goals when she became CEO and hasn’t even met them. Citi stock only rising because all of the banks and NII are doing better since the yield curve disinverted. I’ve been with the bank for 18 years and I stopped working hard for this place 10 years ago. I don’t know about all of you but they get the bare minimum amount of me every day and I’m not ashamed to admit it.

Wow, just saw the news. 33% YoY increase is brutal. Just goes to show how detached from reality the top 0.01% are. And at the same time thousands of hardworking working and/or long-term employees were told that promotions worth 5-10k annual increase in salary will not happen due to the difficult situation Citi is in. Outrageous. 10 mln more this year is equivalent to 1000 VP to SVP promotions. And that is only Jane of the Jungle. What about the rest of the gang who are on 5-10mln and above?

Flat? I consider everything below 20pct yoy as flat. So I have been flat throughout my whole career :D Jane - of course, why are you surprised? No one cares about the drones - you are easily replaceable - leave and an army of desperate Asian / South American / African immigrants will be ready to jump in your place... This is the globalized world rich people created for themselves in the past 30y. And you guys allowed that by pretending to be helping poor people and be liberal and being afraid of being labelled as racist, when in reality the job market has nothing to do with racism. Pure supply and demand - I do not care what colour you are - I care there are lots of you which will affect the chance of finding a good job.

@a2+1jmdysss3 Exactly! I hate that it's that way right now. My motivation went even more out the window with this information. I don't get the people still working until 10pm and 1:00 am straight up exhausted. THIS place does not care about YOU. It's the truth no matter the "we're all one team" BS that's going around right now.

It certainly sets the tone going forward on effort. Just do enough to keep from getting fired.

Yep. Su-ks rocks. Def sets a negative tone and decreases an already extremely low morale. Expect the bare minimum from your staff.
