Glassdoor's Algorithm is cr-p

I can't believe that VMware is ranked as the 7th best place to work in 2024 based on some Glassdoor algorithm: https://www.visualcapitalist.com/americas-best-places-to-work-2024/ Did Uncle Hok pay them off?

Anyone still working from home

Just "hope and pray" that your final severance pay is not reduced. Broadcom payroll is calculating "days employed during transition" based on badge in data. "Office presence" is sure shot way of not losing your gold coins.

Grateful to VMware

Grateful to VMware for all they did for me over the years. For the friends I've made, and the career opportunities I now have that I've declined my offer. I for one will not be calling the company or solutions now that I'm leaving, I hope you won't... — read more

Ireland reductions

Approx 100 support engineers left VMware, some due to attrition even before the offer letters even came out. We know there were 360 redundancies being made apart from that in different areas like HR, finance etc. You add the numbers and... — read more

CB layoffs when?

Admin and GTM is very likely gone, but will any of R&D survive? Rumor of 2 death waves coming, as early as next week--any idea who is first to go? Wondering how deep R&D cuts will be the first go around.

Severance offer deadline

Deadline to accept severance offer is on Monday 19th, does anyone know if that means before Monday 19th so by Sunday or COB Monday 19th. My solicitor appointment is booked for Monday morning on the 19th but I’m worried if that’s too late to sign or... — read more

UK - Reference ?

Anyone know the current mail to get a reference ? I already left VMware so I don't have access to Workday and whilst I was promised one when I resigned, I never got it and manager doesn't respond on LinkedIn.

Severance Paid

For those waiting on severance and signed on the 26th, you should be getting that paid out this Friday. I get paid 2 days early and it just hit my account

Don’t let imposter syndrome get the better of you!

After slaving away in the company for 3 years, I took voluntary redundancy without any offer in hand. I’ll be leaving next week and I’ve only now started creating my CV. For many weeks I postponed creating a CV because it gave me the ick, my... — read more

UK employee just signed

UK employee who has just signed and accepted their welcome letter. Firstly, I was in the fortunate position to be offered a welcome letter, as many people were not. Sometimes having a choice is more difficult, sometimes it is easier. Although I... — read more

EUC transition employees

If you've been slated to go to EUC upon divesture and you're transition, good news! Hr is working on options, you can opt to decline, accept or stay on transition. If you're fte, you're stuck. I'm unsure of the timeline of the announcement as... — read more

Superlatives

Here's a blow-off-steam stupid post. Plese post snappy superflatives that describe your experience with Broadcon, both negative and positive. Broadcon su-ks so hard it removes material from far away black holes.

Dutch VMware

When do the Dutch get their letters? Looking forward to seeing a couple of Chief Technologists get their marching orders. No use in Hocks world.

OMNISSA

I saw that VMware applied for a new trademark called OMNISSA. (https://trademarks.justia.com/983/65/omnissa-98365706.html) It's registered as EUC business. What do you think about it, could it be the EUC BU to be sold?

Severance

Anyone know when it should hit our direct deposit? Understood 3/15/24 is absolute latest.

EUC recruiting

Does anyone feel sleighted that they didn't get a choice to turn down the EUC transition offer? I had seen this question in one of the townhalls but HR kind of gave a PC answer. Just wanted to take an informal poll here.

VMware Technical Support

ex-CA now with Broadcom chiming in So what's going on in the world of VMware technical support? Have they asked a lot of you to stay? Transition? Straight layoffs? What is the general VMware technical support situation right now?

There is hope

At the moment it is all doom and gloom here. I want to share a bit of good news & I know this is going to get a load of down votes! I decided to decline the Ireland offer letter (not once but twice thank you Hock!) and spent the past few weeks... — read more

VMware was not that great!

Been at VMware 15+ years, now work for Broadcom. I get the frustrations with BC that they don't communicate, and they make you figure out a lot of things on your own, but who cares?!? Companies don't exist for their employees, but for their... — read more

OMNISSA…

Anyone know anything about this new trademark? Asking for a friend.

Retention RSUs cancelled

I checked my fidelity account today. The retention RSUs that are due for vesting on March 1st showing a status of Cancellation. Anyone seeing similar thing?

The craic keeps on going in Ireland!

Broadcom is a right laugh. Management is scratching their heads over the fact that loads of us TSEs turned down their offer, so they're scrambling to send out a second one. And now, would you believe it, my boss tells me the bigwigs upstairs are in a... — read more

UK RSUs?
