Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Dutch VMware

When do the Dutch get their letters? Looking forward to seeing a couple of Chief Technologists get their marching orders. No use in Hocks world.

Wow, moving from an autistic Excel junkie with no empathy or management skill to total incompetence with a washed out former EUC sales after yesterdays news! We all get the managers we deserve and these are not getting you safely through the coming layoffs of 100+ people. Good luck!

I heard the next round of layoffs in Netherlands is incoming. BC not waiting for the workers council to slow things down.

This tiger team exists in other EMEA regions too.

So all of them signed an NDA and know more than they claim?!

You dare to call that a leadership team? Those are MINOs (Manger In Name Only), the don't lead they occupy a seat and and office which has 'Manager' or 'Director' on the door. If they were leaders and managers they would have the employees best interests at heart. Instead they block setting up a workers council 3 years ago with the stupidest motivation and now he stands up as the saviour of the people and creator of a workers council. What a joke! I'm happy I still have a job but I hope current management does not make the cut.

Sure thing. You just write in a weekly email, which should imitate social interaction because they otherwise do not have any, that you're sorry to see so many people go and you are free from any blame, right? Wrong! All values seem to have gone out the window. This leadership team has caused the absolute deepest depth the Netherlands region has ever been in.
I heard that, as expected, local management did not give a f*ck. They offer keyboard support by claiming to care while posting BC propaganda on LinkedIn in a desperate try to save their jobs from becoming redundant.
And that surprises you how? I'm from UK and their reputation has preceded them, even here. Story goes the management team in Netherlands only seems to care about Excel sheets and motorcycle clubs. So sacking 18 people isn't even a 'blip' on their radar.

Dutch office is +/- 200 ppl, +/-300 if you take into account all international roles on Dutch payroll. 18 is just the first batch, staying below the UWV max of 20.
So probably another 100-140 will follow in time.

18 is that it? Such a small number. Don’t know the entire Dutch employee numbers. Must be in order of 200+

First round of BC casualties in Netherlands is a fact. 18 in total, rest to follow. I heard that, as expected, local management did not give a f*ck. They offer keyboard support by claiming to care while posting BC propaganda on LinkedIn in a desperate try to save their jobs from becoming redundant.

Today HR started sending personal invitations in the Netherlands for later this week. I'm curious to see how the toothless tiger team will respond.

For Dutch VMware employees, you know which calendar to consult to see for yourself.

JWL here, I just got an offer in and it is fabulous The RSU's are through the roof. I am staying. All because of the millions that I contributed to the business with partnerring with my customers. Look at where the puck is going not at where it is.

Makes sense and why we are seeing business as usual from the NL team. Head in sands.

Dutch letters are miles away and Dutch mgmt is hiding behind the tiger team instead of standing up for their people and the tiger team can’t say sh-t because they signed a NDA

Funny of you to assume they have a career opportunity after coasting for the last 10 years on circlej--kfan boys.

DE FD JWL will be interesting to see where they land. Either stay at BC or move on. Likely need to do some proper work and either be a TAM or SE.

There are quite some ‘community rockstars’ (DE, FD, JWL, …) in the Netherlands that are good at organising circlej--ks with their fanboys, but are not contributing a lot to the business. They get paid to write their personal blog, run ads on them, take ‘advisory roles’ at startups and travel the world. Can’t imagine this will fly in Hock’s world.
