Thread regarding VMware layoffs

UK - Reference ?

Anyone know the current mail to get a reference ?

I already left VMware so I don't have access to Workday and whilst I was promised one when I resigned, I never got it and manager doesn't respond on LinkedIn.

OP here.

Just to clarify. A 'reference' isn't required per-se. It is proof of employment checked by a third party and yes they need to contact HR but I cannot get hold of anyone.

It is important to understand that you were let go or laid off.

I wasn't. I left myself.

If anyone could send me the email it would be highly appreciated.

Gosh, in the Uk for background checks it’s quite normal to have to submit proof of employment - this is normally done through a simple HR contact confirming position and dates of employment. Whether or how you were let go doesn’t feature.

Im reluctant to post the email publicly - could you message or slack one of your old colleagues for it? Im sure anyone would be happy to share it!

Do not provide VMware or Broadcom HR as references.

Show your payslips or W-2 to confirm employment at VMware.

Not sure you understand. Yes I have given HR my details but I need THEIR details that I can give to a third party taking references and I remember there was a specific email address and I don't know if it has change sinve Broadcom.

You provided the HR contact or email ID for reference. I did the same.
