From all I'm hearing the whole company will be gone in under 2 years...might be time to go now without leaving with nothing when it all folds

Word is that US severance is to be slashed by 50% minimum. This means increased RIFs at a reduced cost to the company. It's best to take offered packages by volunteering now instead of waiting until next year.

STX jet is an asset that is rented out to the highest private bidder and has not been used by the company in over a year.

Laid off 7 years ago, and not surprised to see more layoffs. The only company more consistent with layoffs than Seagate is Dell. Get out while you can. Survived 20 layoffs only to be nabbed by 21. At least Dell is worth getting laid off from.

Apparently people to hear on Monday past their severance pay...ain't heard of anyone yet got letter from HR??
