Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

Should i go?

I'm 35 and it's my 13th year in Seagate. I admit i have gotten too comfortable here. Seeing people getting laid off, I'm thinking if i should get out soon before everything collapse..

You should stay and experience living through the inevitable collapse of the company and maybe write a book about it. Yes - that's it - stay and start documenting all the management sc--w ups, employee moral descension, and dividend debt cumulation, illegal sales to China, etc.. it may make a great movie.

Agree with @1aeo+1nsmysFv. If you’ve been working here for more than 10 years, you definitely expect a package. This round RIF is over. Still, you can talk to your boss, and volunteer for the next round.

In any job you should stay only as long as you are growing your skills, learning, and making yourself more capable for your next position. These are the things you can control.

Dude. Explore the job market now while you are still employed. There is nothing wrong with doing that or talking to head hunters. Take the interviews offered. Worst case, you get some interview experience. Best case, you get a job offer.
