Sad but true. Things will not improve with time if that's what you're waiting or hoping for. I'm betting you we'll soon come to a point where targets will increase and pay will decrease. I don't see a point in staying here any longer. There are many much better companies out there.

@OP+1 caring about the numbers and money shift started long ago when Boards tied executive compensation to share price As @jly+ advised, if you're <50 move on and get the h*ll out of this industry. It's a relic of the PC hey days with and data centers breathing some extra life. Imagine, not that long ago some long-time engineer passed along similar guidance to a young engineer who was developing the next generation of land-line telephone or answering machine as mobile phones emerged.
Yeah, company only cares about profit and money. Employees are just numbers of labor costs like head, media, and equipments. Accept it and move on.
God yes. Leave if you are under 50 right now. BTW, the pay cut is permanent. The company has multi-billions in debt, HDD TAM is diving off a cliff, and HAMR perfect execution will not save it like the remainder of positive talking people are thinking. I'm glad you see reality now. The company is being prepared for bankruptcy to vacate all the debt so it can be sold as a distressed asset to another company without that debt. That's really the road we are so obviously on. I'm sure the executives are planning to make out like bandits through the whole process. The 10 year lease back agreements make me laugh. It'll never be paid out.
