My advise to young graduates is to steer clear of this company. Expect more and more layoffs, paycuts, reduced benefits and frustration while Dave and his VP bandits get rich off their bonuses and stock options. Effectively, employees young and old are subsidizing the dividend from lost compensation so Seagate stock price does not crash and senior executives and their friends on Wall Street can continue to pad their bank accounts.

Does the poster shares knowledge with co-workers old or new, or tries to keep people out by posting this post and not sharing at work for job protection?
How are our kids supposed to get jobs if employees want to keep people out?
The CEO is essentially stealing employees money to pay himself and buddies who are big shareholders with dividends. They money flow is from employees families to these rich people. Incredibly wrong and horribly unethical and unfair. Avoid!
Good luck learning skills in next 3-5 years. Honestly, I would be surprised if Seagate is still around in 2 years. No experienced engineers around to learn from. No formal training that I have seen in many years. Training conference rooms used to be filled years ago, now empty. Design centers are virtually empty. No one around to "rub elbows' with and learn from. Labs are empty. With major financial issues, what would be budget for research and development? New technology? Training? Again good luck.
On the contrary.. this is the right kind of company for fresh engineers to join and learn
Do not expect any significant pay raise/bonus or promotion .. for the next 3-5 yrs..
Almost all senior engineers have left or been laid off.. the existing senior engineers have lost motivation and most probably -- looking out for a job
This is the perfect opportunity for a fresh grad to work hard (they will make u work, twice as much, if u are willing to)
Once you have enough technical knowledge --- use that knowledge and LEAVE !!
Max lifetime for a fresh grad in seagate should not be more than 3 years

Agree 100%. Also you forgot to mention employees effectively subsidizing 300M fine as well with loss of employment and loss of jobs and compensation. And don't fall for that B$ about senior management doing without pay for that Huawei fiasco. Their compensation is primarily stock options, bonuses and other perks. They got their bonuses and options during and after their betrayal of our country's security interests.
