Why always SW gets impacted in Q?

Nvidia has a good balance in SW and HW engineers resulting in leader in AI and GPU. Qualcomm always preferred HW engineers even though SW engineers masks their HW bugs using SW workarounds after HW tapeout. SW never got recognition in Q and when SW... — read more

REmove or Reduce -- the hierarchy like Meta!

Please make all status collectors as individual developers! There are some good engineers, but a lot of them are sick of bureaucratic status collectors. There are two many old timers as well who just stay there to do "politics".

Qualcomm AI

Qualcomm was (is) too late for the AI game, people started the AI back in 2012. I think need to invest more on AI.

Everyone saw this coming

Q should have updated their compensation. Now they've lost many key folks to our competitors putting us in a worse situation. We've lost our vacation and our benefits is not as good as it use to be. There is no incentive to climb that ladder. More... — read more

Ok lets review CA and his team accomplishments

When CA took over in 2021 it was in middle of pandemic and he was lucky to have a wave to ride, so no accomplishment for that year. Whatever there was was either the work of former CEO or the wave of pandemic, low interest environment and massive... — read more

Would executive management take paycuts

Synergies

Q in SD has some very solid programmers and designers. The better ones code at least 5X faster than Q-India. Q-India on the other hand debug issues very fast spending late nights and team work on triaging. Together they could make a great team.

Is Volunteer an option?

Would like to volunteer in the coming HC reduction. I would request qcom to accept volunteers to save jobs of others in need

First asked to stay now let go

Not long but when attrition was high, we were asked to stay. Loyal employees who listen are getting let go now. We are just numbers in xl sheet. Top management to employees, don't leave its greed and now we don't need you because of our greed.

Once CA said in previous all hands

See its a same CEO who asked employees not to leave Q for FAANG saying the work getting done is more interesting than others. Now CA eats his own words and laying off loyal employees who didn't leave.

Plenty of us would be happy to volunteer

Offer us decent severance, nothing extravagant, and plenty of us will be happy to walk away. This would help save the jobs of those who want to stay and make sure those who don't get to leave. Imagine what a boost that would be for morale, as opposed... — read more

Too bad modem as a service was not considered

I am no longer at Qualcomm now. Left as a senior staff engineer in 2014. Modem as a service was brought to the table in 2013. There would be a 2 year subscription to the modem after which you couldn't use your phone. MR was for it, so was strategy... — read more
