Would things have been better if Broadcom managed to buy us?

What does it matter if Broadcom had acquired QCOM?! What matters is layoffs will be happening. You need to be prepared. Best way to prepare is to start job hunting now. By the time you get an offer from another company, the layoffs at QCOM will be in full swing, and you can decide whether you should accept the offer or stay at QCOM.

HockTan is about the performance, not for freebies

No, the Hock Tan method of management is as long as you stay on his good side, you have a job. Anything goes wrong, and people start disappearing. No notice, no package. Just gtfo.

Grass is always greener on the other side when things don't go well, isn't it? I didn't hear anyone at Q complaining about culture, leadership team, etc etc 2 - 3 years ago when they did the inflation adj and allowed ppl to WFH

Of course , Broadcom would have laid off 50% and employee count would be 10K not 50K. You think Hock would have spared those fat sitting at the top?

Molenkopf would be crying.

CA would not have been the CEO.

Apple would not have made it’s modems.

Mediatek would not have ki-led qc like today

Laid off employees would have been much happier today than in agony still working at qc now

No. Broadcomm would have laid off people soon after acquisition. They were buying Qualcomm for modem and patents.

Yes if you are good. But half of us would not be here.
