@2fdb+1olaB7w5 the problem with brew was that it was carrier controlled. The greedy ba----ds thought "ringtones" was something they could charge a subscription fee for. Qualcomm surrendered control to the carriers and doomed brew.

Also, who would be a better CEO for Globalstar? Qs earliest product Omnitracs was satellite based. Was for the longest time the only product available for tracking Semis and military equipment all over the world. It was shortsighted of Mollenkopf to only concentrate on chips and Amon isn't doing any better.

To the mo--n who said Brew went nowhere... it was the ONLY appstore until the advent of the smartphone. It was even around as late as 5 years ago collecting revenue for long forgotten apps on phones that were not being used.

Brews Achilles was it was not platform independent and required Qualcomm chips to be in the phone. It was the forerunner of the app store and Google play.

You can say BREW is defunct and forgotten. You can't say it went nowhere. It made Billions for Q. And not a flicking soul since Irwin or Paul has made a new product that made any money..... so there's that.

So what happens to XCOM? I thought Jacob was a diehard Qualcomm loyalist who offered to be a white knight when Broadcom tried to buy the company.

Jacob's big initiative was BREW which went nowhere.
