There'll be no layoffs

We're having trouble hiring to replace those who left. I don't like this management but I don't think even they are stupid enough to have a layoffs round when we're desperate for more employees. What exactly would it achieve other than making... — read more

Discrimination

It's been really obvious to my co-worker and I that our boss is discriminating against women. He will require us to detail down to the steps what is needed for a task and our male counterpart doesn't have to. Time to file a complaint with HR. They... — read more

Layoffs 2022 February

Management didn't hit their quota and didn't produce. Their is a big shake up looming... called a re-org.

Selfish Management

The real reason they stopped bravos and barely give a bonus is due to the fact that the less they pay out the better management looks. They are worthless and should be laid off.... again!

Why do you hesitate to leave?

I'd love to get out of here, but I'm still here. It may sound weird, but I really don't know why I'm hesitant to leave. I know other people who have the same problem - they want to leave but do not send any applications. Maybe it's the fear of a... — read more

Is there anyone who regrets leaving?

Not only do I get paid more, but there is generally less work and less stress in the new company. Now I regret that I hesitated for so long whether to leave or not. Basically, I had a hard time accepting that I would have to start somewhere else... — read more

It's the same everywhere

I had an in-law reach out to me last week to ask what's it like to work at Optum since he is considering transferring. He can't stand being overworked and underpaid at Molina anymore while he deals with a toxic work environment. Sounds familiar? Yup... — read more

I'm even more anxious now

People here were talking about layoffs, my colleagues were talking about layoffs, I was mentally preparing to hear the bad news. However, there were no layoffs last week or the week before. I'm even more anxious now. Could it be that Optum will... — read more

No more Bravos?

So if I read the email correctly, since my dept is on QVC, we will no longer get Bravos with points in 2022.

Are we rapidly losing customers?

Why does it seem to me that more and more individual consumers are choosing not to buy Optum because they disagree with the policy of a company that finds cheaper labor in other countries? Is it possible that this is happening?

Get ready for more subpar IT help

While many Americans look for better paying job UHG has decided to flip Americans the middle finger and hire droves of people from the Philippines. They are currently hiring 3 IT associate managers for the help desk level which each manage can have... — read more

Did they try to keep anyone?

I am ready to give notice and I know that it will be a surprise to my manager because he is used to me always being a loyal, patient employee who always gave his best. I don’t believe anyone will try to keep me, nor do I think that it's not true... — read more

Toxic Culture and Discrimination

I've worked for this company for over 10 years and I would never refer someone to work here. They downgrade you and work you perform by calling you out in team meetings. The discrimination is bad... Not worth it

People who refuse to work overtime

I'm in the process of looking for a job. I would rather leave on my own than have Optum tell me to leave. That's why I'm interested in how people who refused to work overtime fared? I constantly do an abnormal amount of overtime for one reason... — read more

This can't work out

Bonus Payout Date for 2022 (US)

I am (finally) planning my exit from Optum this spring. Does anyone know when the bonus payout date is for 2022? Based off last year I am guessing Friday, March 4th. Need to give my notice after that date. When I click on “2021-2022 Common Review... — read more

Unemployment

Does anyone know if UHC, Optum fights unemployment? If someone were to quit, would they still be able to collect unemployment benefits?

What are their strategies for the long run?

Texas bans vaccine mandates

New executive order that denies mandates. Not sure of all the details but may give cover for all the Texas employees and or give you some legal ammo to make things rough on UHG.

Bigger problem than cuts is whom they cut

Are you going to vaccinate?

How many people are going to bow down and vaccinate? I personally telecommute and find it ridiculous that UHC isn’t requiring telecommuters to vaccinate, but their red headed step child Optum is. They can have my job, I’m not doing it.

Telecommuters MUST be vaccinated

Meeting today that areas in Optum are mandatory vaccination for telecommuters regardless that’s UHG policy excludes telecommuters from vaccine mandates. They will lose their jobs by 11/30 if not vaccinated.
