Boca News Update
Mutual of America Life Insurance Co. has sold its Boca Raton office campus for a combined $23.75 million, paving the way for a major redevelopment.
The 11.7-acre property at 1150 NW Broken Sound Parkway was purchased in two transactions—$16.875 million by Broken Sound Boca LLC and $6.875 million by MBAL Commercial Owner LLC. The buyers are a partnership that includes Ram Real Estate, Butters Construction & Development, and Altman, part of BBX Capital Corp.
Under the redevelopment plan, Ram Realty will oversee the multifamily component, while Butters will take the lead on the industrial portion. The campus currently features a 76,761-square-foot office building occupied by Mutual of America, which has until July 2026 to relocate before the structure is demolished.
Approvals are already in place for a 287-unit apartment community with a seven-story parking garage offering 481 spaces. The residential plan includes 29 affordable units and 15 workforce units. The industrial section is slated for 63,624 square feet of small-bay warehouse and office space across two two-story buildings, along with 136 parking spaces (1)
The sales proceeds will help cover severance packages for the upcoming layoffs and restructuring, and help the company turn its first profit in 8 yrs.

Stores closed that performed well.
So how come some stores that performed well on the leaderboard were closed? Because they didn't do enough volume? Well everyone in retail knows that they higher ups scold you for volume. They only want "quality" Some stores dug their own grave by gaming the system on leaderboard to be higher on the ranker.
IMO it's always been one of the worst parts about this job and part of the reason that they company loses out on so much. They would rather you walk a sale that retains a customer but whom isn't buying insurance, an add a line and 3 perks on premium.
Any one impacted in IL or WI

Closing NY and NJ HQ and moving to Texas?
Thoughts on this shocking move? If saving money is the long game, then make the move now! Sell the assets. Cancel the contracts. Exit these high tax states. Don’t offer relocation. Eliminate 50% of corporate staff at HQ. If you don’t face a customer or directly interact with those that do, then time to let go. Get rid of the Pelaton marketing crew and turn out the revenue.
This is not a rumor. Just throwing this out there.
What's next?
I know the closings and cuts have just started. Is there any way to know what could be next?

@ 1ktx+13aIr2im
Yeah, there’s more accurate closing info from news outlets and real estate transactions than coming here. Here it’s “Monday”, “Wednesday #closing”, “HE called management in secret conference call Tuesday and Friday is it”, “guy in sport coat toured back room, says fixtures must be moved so we must be liquidating”. The day comes, nothing happens, Kmart cheerleader guy posts how Guam sold 1500 cases of spam over the weekend and things are looking up every single week. Accurate info is one thing but this stuff is pointless and detracts from any actual info. I don’t think it’s any great secret more stores will close so clogging up everything with post after post is pointless.
