Anyone know what the exact RIF date is?

If I remember, 2015 RIF was on a THURSDAY. Contractors were let go today, THURSDAY. Safe to assume the RIF will be on a THURSDAY in mid to late Oct. Anyone know the exact day?

Transplant Catastrophy

I recently relocated to the Savannah area for my new role. I was promised a 3 year contract with an optional 4th year back in April 2019. Today I came to work at 7:00 and found my badge no longer works. Nothing new as the security system is wonky... — read more

Severance package

Do we know what we can expect? Will there be any reductions? I'm worried they might want to save more money by cutting severance and I wouldn't put it past them to hit us when we are down. This is Gulfstream we are talking about here, after... — read more

2019 Layoffs

Contractors have began to be let go. I heard that since security messed up and disabled badges a day ahead of time, the contractors found out when coming to work and they couldn't get into the gate.

All roads lead to...

So I perform poorly, I get laid off. Mgmt performs poorly, I get laid off. Mgmt performs well, I get laid off. I perform well, I get laid off. Anyhow, all roads lead to layoffs. Resistance is futile.

Cover-up...

The sudden announcement was a knee jerk reaction, because somebody slipped and let an email loose. VPs had to scramble to cover the situation. And appear transparent.

Layoffs: Layoffs and Our Normal Course Of Business

The announcement of layoffs in October 2019 for Gulfstream is becoming a normal cycle of business. When times are good at Gulfstream it seems like the hiring and promoting frenzy begins. There are lots of project managers managing nothing... — read more

Do Massive Layoffs Really Help?

Yeah, you know it: cutting jobs isn't the answer. To be successful and survive companies need to change how the business is done and operated. You cannot cut your way to success. This applies to Gulfstream too.

Gulfstream is for sale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With the Tariffs on Aluminum increasing, Gulfstream is struggling to make a profit on every aircraft it builds. Other aircraft manufactures have already started building their aircraft out of composites, like Honda jet and Boeing’s Dream liner. Also... — read more

Gulfstream is NOT for sale

Friends, please listen. The company is NOT for sale. Just look at the financials. We contribute more to GDs bottom line than any other division. GD has quarterly earnings report conference calls that everyone (and GAC employees in particular) should... — read more

Who else wishes it was all done by now?

Why stretch it out like this? Why let us know there'll be layoffs sometime within a month and then let us wait and stress about it? I feel like I'd be happier even if I got the news I was laid off if I were to get it today. This wait is just... — read more

HR can not be trusted

I left Gulfstream in July after 7 years. The company has a bad culture with micromanaging and favoritism and the good ole boy system. The managers get away with murder and HR does nothing about it no matter how much you call ethics. I personally... — read more

Gulfstream on the market

GD to put Gulfstream on the market. Lack of new sales and RND cost over run. Lay off will not impact the LTM team due to the sale of GAC.. Inside GD people have stated bad management is the cause for this move by GD..

The human factor is not part of the equation

We all know aviation is cyclical. OEM Sales even more so. It’s naive to expect GD to ignore market indicators and assume the shareholders will understand that John just bought a home or Karen is a single parent and both desperately need their jobs... — read more

Profit First!!! Gulfstream is creating a new "cut throat" culture of non caring management that chases revenue instead of employee welfare?
