Contractors have began to be let go. I heard that since security messed up and disabled badges a day ahead of time, the contractors found out when coming to work and they couldn't get into the gate.

Gulfstream was the best business jet in the world, but they have lost their way. It's not because of the workers, it's the worthless management.
It is Gulfstream's annual October layoffs. No surprise every single year for the last 20 years that I have been affiliated with this company. My husband worked there and every October was stressful. The number of people laid off is directly related sales/cancellations. Gulfstream has to pay a monthly profit to General Dynamics. Private jets is a very 'niche' market. Let's face it people don't HAVE TO HAVE a private jet. Go to the Grocery industry EVERYONE has to eat!
Core lost a lot of directors today.. Sad when is this going to end.. This is impact our lives just get it done

It's a minimum 23% reduction from reliable HR source. It will be in waves but that number is accurate at a minimum. I woyld make alternative plans, update your resumes.
It is nice to see how people feel about a Company that has supported them for years and now needs to lighten the load. If they would remove the people that are useless and lazy, I work the 650 section and see this a lot. I have friends all over Gulfstream and hear their stories of people who fall asleep or look at Ebay for Aircraft or parts for his Aircraft in the open area where they work and his group head knows it but because he has been with the company for 45 plus years it's ok come on V.F. do your darn job and you know you have others that need to be let go. Listen to your people remove the problems grow aset.

What a screw up. That caused a lot of real damage to the company’s reputation. You would think the VPs would be apologizing loudly and profusely. But nary a peep from them. Next we’ll be told this is a “great place to work!
If they screwed up please let the dead weight go and keep the hard works. There is a lot of dead weight in the RDC campuses. People who watch U tube video's during work, or texting other people most of the day. But they won't be touched by this lay off and their managers know they do this.
The CFO didn't know how bad things were. I'd say he should be the first one out and then the CIO.. SAP s—s my PC is sh– the network runs really slow. WTF.. I have stock in GD I what them gone
It's a shame Gulfstream let people go abruptly like this. You'd think a company that was rated as one of the best companies to work for would talk to their employees face to face before letting them go.
It's sad that employees just lost access without a word of warning. Shame on Gulfstream! Definitely not a trustworthy company!
R&D has instrumention engineer that feels she doesn't need to work overtime on the weekend to help solve a possible issue. I feel sorry for those who have poured their heart out for the job. Best of luck to you all.

I went into work this evening and found due to contractor lay off we had nothing to do. Found my manager sleeping in his like he always does.. But no will fire him.
More to come tomorrow is what I heard.
I am sure there are some directs that need to be let go but there manager, dept head has no B__ls to let them go. They sit all day and play with there phones. Just because they are leadsthey get away with it. They work in the R&D section.
I was terminate today not sad it's business. But I hope stupid managers get lay off In IT but I guess not.. Sad..

I was a contractor in PSDC and I was laid off late this morning.
Yea that did happen today. I was laid off.
It was another classic GAC screw up. The contractors were supposed to all be told by the end of today that tomorrow was they're last day...instead they went and deactivated all of the contractor badges. What a complete debacle!
