Thread regarding Gulfstream Aerospace layoffs

What to Cut??? Redundant Layers of Management!

The past several years management has gotten out of control.

Leadership seems to think the solution to all problems is to add more layers of management to ramrod their schedule and management bonus program objectives.

Everyday new operation managers, directors, and VP positions are announced.

After the G650 crash in 2011, the company seemed to be doing the right things to prevent another tragedy.

Today, it seems as if the heavy handed management culture that existed before 2011 is trying to come back.

All blue collar employees and engineers should unionize to ensure that they don't get run over by the management bonus program train.

Remember, you no longer work for Gulfstream, you work for GENERAL DYNAMICS.

Right on point. Couldn't have said it better myself.

I left Gulfstream in July after 7 years. The company has a bad culture with micromanaging and favoritism and the good ole boy system. The managers get away with murder and HR does nothing about it no matter how much you call ethics. I personally dealt with this and HR can not be trusted. They plot to find ways to get rid of you if you go against them. This company is crooked and evil and they are not to be trusted. Gulfstream is a name and that’s it. They deserve to shut down or fire All management and HR there. Ethics should be called and they should be reported to the news media!

The current management wouldn't care if another 2011 accident happened, as long as they made their delivery numbers. I'm looking at you former production manager that is in senior management now...

Get out now! I was there for the 2015 layoffs and continued to work there until the beginning of this year. They are in high trouble with the new 500 and 600 engine cowlings. Management will always be ok. They have no allegiance to the workforce and have the attitude anyone can do your job. With over 30 years in the industry it was BY FAR the worst place I have ever worked
