Thread regarding Gulfstream Aerospace layoffs

Profit First!!! Gulfstream is creating a new "cut throat" culture of non caring management that chases revenue instead of employee welfare?

Gulfstream just released a black female director that was one of the best in terms of knowledge, demeanor, job scope and general qualifications. She, in my opinion and opinions of many others should have been in the VP position years ago. Minorities and females in aviation is in fact disparaging but that is the type of industry it is.. I do not know why but that's my experience after being in this industry for 30 years. And yes, I am a white male.. This is not about race in my opinion, its more about a lack of initiative to be diverse in an industry that is predominantly white. So people tend to higher who they associate with the most.. Just my opinion

I know exactly who the brothers are. Geniuses. Especially during the G650 retro process....Lol..grossly incompetent.,..I've worked at 5 Gulfstream sites in various capacity but I have never seen employees with a lower morale than when I worked with the large cabin mechanics and avionics at the Dallas Facility. The shop in Dallas s---s, has the worst manager in aviation named Russell, and turnover is very high due to horrific management, and horrible equipment and facilities. Avoid Dallas. ...word on the street is more layoffs company wide.

U don't need a degree to be a manager at Gulfstream. There are tons of managers at Gulfstream with no degree. Heck, the now sr manager over production quality (AAP) got fired years back for lying about having a high school diploma on his resume. He hired back in as a contractor not long after being fired, and became a direct employee again, shortly after. Now he is Sr Manager over production quality (AAP). Talk about buddy system. Oh, and both his brothers are production managers too. Sad but true! These are our leaders! Lol!

I have worked for this company for a respectable amount of time with contributions that are deemed valuable; But as I Faced a layoff like most have, there was not any bitterness from me as it only proved that my conclusion was correct, that I was one of many others that would remain original and would not risk to be unaltered for the sake of approval by men or women that are in higher positions Therefore, if a buddy system is more ideal then only time will complete it's recipe to create a total disaster. Best of luck for those who still serve but congratulations to those who departed either by own will or from an error made by a so called superior.
