Thread regarding Aetna layoffs

Ohio ending Medicare and Medicaid lines

Just got out of an Ohio town hall.

Tiffany Risner announced Aetna will not seek to renew it's Ohio Medicare and Medicaid contracts.

The contract ends on 12/31/25.

She stated a small dedicated group will remain to support the members. They hope to transition some current employees who do not have contracts to new roles as they explore other products.

She made several contradicting comments regarding staffing.

She would not answer questions. She would only say a FAQ will be developed later to address questions.

By the end of the year several thousand Ohio staff and Ohio support personnel will be jobless.

I think a lot of Medicaid will be laid off as they want unified Aetna. I am guessing OhioRise su-ked since implementation just like Kansas.

Medicaid in general is hurting with the. BBB. and AI playbooks all over the place.Kansas gov laidoff a lot of their staff. So we could be seeing not only Medicaid RDPs not getting renewed but entire Medicaid programs dropping by Q4 2026.

Did anyone get the announcement of the KY CEO leaving after 8years?
