Mgmt tries in vain to raise morale

It is quite understandable that morale is lower than ever. My manager tries to raise morale, but I think it's a wasted effort, most of us do the bare minimum while we try to find other opportunities. I believe that some managers have altogether... — read more

Dont be hasty!

Long story short, I left and I regret it. You work for maybe one company like VMware in your entire career so let’s not pretend you will find something better so easily. Best thing you can do if you are at VMware is never look at this site. Look at... — read more

Promotion without a raise

Was anybody offered a promotion without a raise? A coworker claims he got an offer like that and refused it but I call bullcr-p. I thought all promotions automatically put you in a higher pay grade? I don't know why he would lie about this but I... — read more

Exit interview

It wasn't easy, but I really tried my best and managed to get a solid offer. Now I'm planning to give notice, so I'm wondering what the exit interview is like here? When I left my previous company, I felt terrible while having to invent reasons... — read more

Why does CB get such a bad rep around here?

I wasn't a security or AV focused person as a background but a lot of posts treat CarbonBlack as a second or third rate product. Can anyone give an objective reason/s why that is? All I know is they had a lot of attrition in the dev team but I've no... — read more

They don't know what they are doing anymore

I have the feeling that the management has totally lost control. All these promotions just to keep some employees a little longer..I literally think they end up getting a counter-effect because many are just waiting to be promoted in order to... — read more

Do more with less

Hearing from the CEO that BUs overhired and then "we need to do more with less" oh and "brush up on new skills" sounds a lot like I am telling you that you will be laid off.

What Do You Do?

What do some of you all do or actually don’t do that’s got you on edge about a possible layoff a year from now, that instead of working you’re writing on here during business hours? It can’t be anything valuable because 1. You’re not working, per... — read more

Wrong moves that preceded this?

Bad vibes

My gosh! In a very short time, this has become such a toxic place that even those with whom it was previously a pleasure to work with began to spread terribly bad vibes. There's too much nervousness here already, and I'm afraid it's going to get... — read more

Just give me the money…

We don’t know what is going to happen. We don’t know if it will be good or bad. The uncertainty is ongoing. Rumours don’t help. Just get it done and we can move on.

Nobody is complaining about VMware anymore

All this forum used to be is complaint after complaint after complaint. Now the only thing that's mentioned is Broadcom and what'll happen when we're taken over. People's priorities have certainly shifted. There was nothing to complain about after... — read more

A lot of time has passed since the announcement

Yes, it's been a long time since the acquisition was announced and I'm just starting to believe that it's real. For me, the news about the acquisition was quite a shock because I did not expect it in the least. Perhaps some people saw that it was... — read more

Broadcom review of large VMware deals in place

There is a review process inside of VMW where Broadcom is reviewing the margins of large deals (over $10M). How is this legal? They do not own VMware yet. It feels like exposure of inside business practices before the acquisition is complete.
