Newer employee here, please forgive lack of knowledge. Any predictions of announcements after the 8/25 financial results release here in a couple of days? Feels like if there will be initial layoff plans, starting them after the quarterly financials are released may be the right timing?

Maybe they will start the lay offs after VMExplore concludes.

A list has been created for September already. Waiting on the results to go public and then the Hunger Games begin in earnest. Morale is lower than Raghu's work ethic, which is pretty bad.
Octane is only after the big accounts with sticky products. He will raise prices on renewals like you can't imagine!
This is pure speculation... but the next two quarters may be better than some are expecting, due to the fact that the Broadcom acquisition is motivating a lot of customers to negotiate long-term ELA's (3 to 5 years), so they can lock in pricing before Hock doubles or triples it, and buy them time to migrate their workloads elsewhere.
Gartner and others are literally advising our larger customers to do this.
I'm also curious to see if a very bad earning report will impact negatively Broadcom stock and how much.
Honestly I'm just interested because I would like VMW stock to be up 115 and something on the 31th of August to continue ESPP for another 6months, and Broadcom stock not to go down much because of the 0.252 conversion rate on the payment date as I have still a bunch of VMware stocks.
they wont announce layoffs yet, wait for BCOM to get their claws in first and the fur will start flying
Relax, wait to see what happens in the new year. In the meantime I can recommend some decent box sets. Breaking Bad and Suits were my stand outs.
