Yes, it's been a long time since the acquisition was announced and I'm just starting to believe that it's real. For me, the news about the acquisition was quite a shock because I did not expect it in the least. Perhaps some people saw that it was inevitable even before it was announced?

I prefer the terms metamorphosis or pruning, over "stages of death", but admit it's a painful transition regardless of how you describe it. I stayed and ended up working with a technology I'm invested in and customers who have built their infrastructure around it. So, in my case at least, it was worth sticking around.
treat this like the stages of death. unless your division is sticky, and you're in right role.
I didn't think it was "inevitable", but I thought something would have to change. we saw our challenges and I was starting to believe our senior leadership wasn't up to turning the ship around...
mostly because, they didn't think there was anything wrong with how they were running it!
