Tanzu BU Layoffs?

Rumor has it that Tanzu is laying in the very near term.Supposedly, the emergency management meetings held last week in Palo Alto were focused on cutting more people in March.

The culture has gone downhill

Since Broadcom took over, the environment became even more toxic, even if I didn't think it was possible. I opted to stay but I'm now reconsidering that decision. I can't quit right now, but I'll be overjoyed if we get another voluntary round or if... — read more

Who builds these portals?

Customer Connect, MyLearn, and Cloud Service Portal might be the most fragile and flakey web applications I have ever used. They seem like they are regularly down, often lose authentication, poorly designed UI's, and don't even get me started about... — read more

EUC Rocks!!!

Yes I do love EUC...been my home from home for 10 years now. Nothing wrong with tenure as I see some complaints on here. If every company was to replace 10 years of tenure there would be 0 knowledge and cr-p support. The KKR deal is a breath of fresh... — read more

Resignation sales

When you resign at BC does the company let you work out the two or three week notice or do they shut off system access and kick your A-- to the side of the street? Asking for my cousin.

Hock and young talent

I left today, and I’m glad to not work in Hock’s company any more. He said at his first coffee talk that he didn’t invest in young talent as he could just buy those people in once they were useful after a competitor had invested in them. There were... — read more

UK layoff day

Today a lot of good people are leaving VMware in the UK. These are the roles deemed not required by Broadcom. On the 16th March those who did not accept there new contracts on "different" terms leave. I tip my hat to you and raise a glass.

VMware will be replaced

HT is in his 70s- the damage he has done will be part of history. IT engineers and companies will reflect on this- Mickey D included. Ego- money - Words out- bad bad

RTO Letters

Folks in PA and Atlanta started receiving letters. RTO is happening. If you cannot make it the alternative is to take the package. Anyone else?

Bleak or Bright future..

How to report stock gains AVGO

If anyone kind enough to enlighten me on how to report stock gains after acquisition. My supplemental information says my RSUs cost basis to be 0, which should not be because we have paid the taxes when they vested. My ESPPs cost basis to be… umm... — read more

EUC people thoughts on KKR and our future?

Based on the information I have heard so far I have no incentive to stay. I was waiting to see what the divestiture would look like and it’s time to look for a new job. The WFH stance is not what I was expecting, benefits and comp will be on par with... — read more

Original Brian Madden LinkedIn post.

Does anyone know where I can find a copy of the original Brian Madden article where he (accurately) slammed the acquisition and predicted job cuts. LinkedIn has taken it down and Google doesn’t seem to be giving any decent results.

How f**ked are our customers?

With the licensing costs more than quadrupling for customers and with no enterprise alternatives, will the customers s**k it up and pay or just move to cloud? I believe this will be the largest catalyst of shifting to the cloud that we’ll ever see. — read more

My job has barely changed

I'm not sure what people were panicking about. Things in my group have barely changed since Broadcom took over.

Coinage

I want to suggest a neologism for one of the original campus buildings that has just be filled with furniture and people. Let's call the shabby, cardboard-adorned, overly brightly lit, stare-at-your-neighbor, heck cubicles "Hock Town".

RIP To The Cork Office

Many exceptional employees, engineers and team-mates left over the last day or 2. What's gonna happen with support especially? Seems like there's nobody experienced left.
