Your last date is visa expire date.
My manager said sorry and even offered to help find another job before my H1 expires.

Visa application is a right.
As someone said below, either there is a job position or not. Broadcom can decide that, it's their prerogative.
If there is a position, Broadcom should apply for renewal of the visa, provided it's legal.
If Broadcom is not renewing because there is no position, they should pay the severance.

You are one of the thousands that have reached this conclusion. AVGO culture doesn't have the word "empathy" in their vocabulary. It's a private equity mindset focused on the exploitation of workers to maximize the profit delivered to shareholders.

Be as the justification for not renewing the visa is, your position is not required, hence eliminated, but that is also the justification for severance eligibility.

Ask your manager to connect with Broadcom VP and put you on layoff list to get severance.
Many managers have helped their team members by discussing with BRCM VPs.
