Thread regarding VMware layoffs

VMware will be replaced

HT is in his 70s- the damage he has done will be part of history. IT engineers and companies will reflect on this- Mickey D included. Ego- money -

shareholder value

AI will increase shareholder value, so let’s start to fire everyone en mass, no need to have any humanity in the process of letting companies do business, just let them run wild, uncontrolled, and focus on making money in any way possible. What a wonderful world.

Let’s empower more cünts like Hock, so we can have an even wider gap between the haves and the have nots.

"the damage he has done will be part of history"

LOL. He has really damaged shareholder value - $1400 up from $800 18 months ago. Since my pension and probably every whinging child on this forums pension depends on shareholder value - I think I will prefer to say well done to him - he's doing a lot right and fixing a lot of the bloat and inefficiency that was endemic in VMware.

$69B , twas 61B plus assumption of $8B of debt that we took on to pay MD that last $11B of special dividend. Sweet. (probably more overall given the $61B was based on 50/50 at .252 of AVGO at the time of proposed acquisition)

I honestly can't see how BC is going to get back the 64 billion they invested if they continue this way. There will be literally nothing left to make money with if they continue on this path. Maybe the next vSphere is 85% finished, but what about v9.5 or 10? There are no engineers who will want to work for a company with a medieval approach to work. Good luck getting your 60ish billion dollar investment back. It wouldn't surprise me if Hock will be sorry he bought VMware in a year or two. But obviously he can't be wrong, so VMware, its staff and products will be blamed for the loss BC will suffer then. Mark my words..

And Broadcom doesn't care because this is their plan. The engineers and admin who have a choice to move are the customers Broadcom does not want. They want sticky customers who are heavily invested.

This is by design.

I can see this situation given its magnitude and far reaching tentacles as a college level case study in business classes.
