I was laid off in December and have since found a new job. But comparing this new job with VMware, I miss the work, autonomy and the people I used to worked with.
But there's no point thinking about the past. VMware did not want me and laid me off, I understand that very well. I guess I was not good enough for them.

I was empathetic until I read the above comment. You do realize that many others besides you are affected, right? By now, you should realize it's not all about you, it's a strategic decision made by the company.

Vmware is dead and gone. Laid off or not, it has nothing to do with you being good enough. A lot of people miss vmware
It is not easy to forget the past or good working culture with understanding boss.

Lucky ones getting laid off... Do you want to live a life under constant fear or absolute freedom..chosen ones don't have this option even..they are always in my prayer!!

The old vmware has gone. Its broadcom now. Broadcom is nowhere near to VMware in employee friendly policies. Lucky that you moved on.
