"Looking at the portfolio of other KKR companies I wouldn't be surprised if they merged EUC into another Software company they own such as BMC."

I agree, that would be a wise choice. Once KKR does a full audit of the EUC balance sheet, they'll want to reduce all duplication that doesn't add value (finance, HR, marketing, etc).

Looking at the portfolio of other KKR companies I wouldn't be surprised if they merged EUC into another Software company they own such as BMC. It's not like they are buying a fully packaged company with it's own brand name, they either have to create it from the ground up or merge into an existing one.

Merging into BMC would give them a ready made route to market and channel, back office functions etc. There is also probably a significant customer overlap so would allow them to reduce selling costs.

Now that VMware customers know the fate of the EUC BU, they can determine the likely impact on support as this PE owner does their usual headcount reductions across the board. Microsoft will surely see an uptick in new SaaS sales and adoption as a result.

"How was EUC valued at only 1/4 of Citrix and only slightly more than a basic Identity Provider?"

Citrix had multiple product lines, and a higher combined value as a result. That said, $3.8B for EUC (if that's true) is a premium price for a flat SaaS market like UEM and VDI.

KKR is a good choice, they have a history of rightsizing legacy software companies to match the market opportunity. The EUC organization will be very different once they're done removing all the executive layers and other pointless bloat that Shankar created.

It will now look much more like Citrix (very lean and focused).

Good news for AVGO stock. Expect 100 dollars uptick for the cash.

I'm sure HT wants to offload EUC asap given it's a ticking time bo-b. Most likely KKR will realize this during their due diligence period and pull out of the deal.

Heard they are going to be selling EUC products in Toy “R” Us.

What fantastic news. As a member of EUC, I couldn't be more thrilled to have my business unit sold to the company that turned Toys 'R' Us from a somewhat struggling, but profitable retail empire to the juggernaut of commerce that it is today!

Wishing the best for the EUC folks, but honestly with this sh*t company I’m sure they’ll find a way to fu-k that up too.

Not sold.

Nearing sell. CB had offers in hand before Hock changed his mind and decided to keep it. This offer sounds comparative in scale to the one CB had, and really below value, so no way to know.

It's sold when it's sold. But, hope it works out.

Making me think that maybe BC is not selling all of EUC, or is hanging onto a part ownership of it.

For comparison, Ping Identity was sold to PE in 2022 for 2.8b. Citrix was sold to PE also in 2022 for 16.5b.

How was EUC valued at only 1/4 of Citrix and only slightly more than a basic Identity Provider?

  1. 8b is low. We were expecting something north of 5b. No wonder BC decided to keep CB if the industry is putting out low ball offers.

Still, we’re happy to be out of BC. It’s a horrible company, both for employees and customers and the sooner this deal closes, the better.

Going to be interesting to see how it all plays out.
