TD Altman Z score is terrible

Just take a look at the Z score for Teradata which is around 1 and has been for many years. The final result is they will fail, either being sold or complete liquidation. The only thing the Z score cannot predict is when. Bye bye

What was the point of the last round of layoffs?

I mean seriously. Did laying off all those workers have any impact on the financial stability of the company in the future? My guess is…NO. Has this actually worked for ANY company? I’d say it only worked for the upper management and above. I feel... — read more

What is Privilege?

Privilege at Teradata is: Being an overpaid ELT member that gets to fire others for your mistakes. Getting the job of a laid off American Teradata employee simply because you live in a lower cost country. Surviving the great layoff of... — read more

SEC filing?

With TDC dumping the consulting business, why no SEC filing? As a shareholder this is a significant change in how TDC does business.

Americas Consulting Delivery Offloaded

Can't be the entire org because there were only about 45 PS people on the call, but we've all been given the unique opportunity to accept an offer with a partnering entity (or decline the offer for "voluntary separation"). Considering there are ~80... — read more

Who is shouldering their work?

Considering that some of the people who have been laid off were essential for the work of their teams, who is expected to shoulder their work? Are they going to bring in new, fresh out of college replacements we'll have to train? Or is it simply... — read more

There's a lot of greener pastures outside of Teradata

Never underestimate the value of commitment, loyalty and knowledge that employees bring to the company. The world is a very big and accommodating place. And last but not the least - knowledge is power and those who dont value it will find themselves... — read more

Let’s all vow to leave TD

I know everyone here at TD are better off working somewhere else than here. At least we won’t have this f—ing anxiety of layoffs every now and then.

The company has gone nauseatingly PC

The company has been bending over backwards to prove to everybody that it is not racist and that everyone is welcome. Unfortunately, they have not been bending over backwards to be great. Focus on being great and the diversity will happen... — read more

Layoffs/Severance Package

One of the worse severance packages in the industry. They should be embarrassed in offering such a bad package to highly trained educated engineering.

This is no way to run a company!

I'm so f—ing tired of reorganizations that only end in layoffs with no proper strategy for the future. Cutting people provides a short term bump in profits but it also gives the company long term losses that can't even be quantified. Stop treating... — read more

How are they notifying people?

As somebody asked in another post, have people who are affect already received their notifications? Or will this drag out throughout the day? When will we know if we're safe or not?

Today

It’s finally going to be over with. Official email went out indicating it is happening today.

Layoffs are coming

Key meetings being moved out of next week. Managers scurrying to get people to move forward task completions ahead of next week. Friends being protected and silently moved into safer roles. Yes. It’s happening. Bumping to top from @1cxd+17yaQetr... — read more

it is hard to please everyone, whoever it is that sits in the CEO post will always get a negative response from everyone. do you ever think that if SB was given the CEO post instead of SM, SB will not receive any negative feedback from anybody? .. — read more

I don't get it. We've had a visionary CEO lacking the leadership to make-follow. Before and after, we had a caretaker who did have the leadership and gravitas, but did not give a noticeable steer. Now we get one with a strong operational focus... — read more

Mid-western values... or woke?

One interesting comment from SB when asked what he liked the most in TD - he interestingly singled out the people and the sort of mid-western values. Given the wokeness taking over right from the top... and the other remark that he enjoys sitting in... — read more

No layoffs?

There is still no confirmed information. Could it be possible that there is no layoff at all?

Does the ELT even know what transparency means?

in SM's nearly first address to the company he just casually threw out "oh yea and we are going to be doing layoffs." Then it was nothing for weeks, and the next discussion was "oh we are offering early retirement", then zero freaking... — read more
