Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

So hate this place...

I've been here 7 years. Now my skills are irrelevant in the wider market place. I thought I was making a good decision when I joined. But now am really struggling. It's so hard, each day I feel I am developing defunct technology skills and knowing I might get a tap on the shoulder. I have a family to support. The way they treat their staff is stressing me out so much. But I hide it from the family.

I am not sure how this is the most ethical company when I feel so afraid and I see colleagues leave with little notice and struggle given their skills.

Just hoping it is not me next.

You talk ethical??? TERADATA is NOT ethical at all. C.T. (& M.e.) would realize this if they took a moment to check the credentials of their direct reports on their LI profiles. There are only three that say they have credentials and ONE of them has lied for years! Taking on credentials in the events industry w/o ever sitting for a test at all! Shameful for sure.

Troll calling me a troll...narcissism at its finest. A key skill for the Director rank and above.

To the 'join my team' @fmu+1atbBFRT, why would someone so happy and having fun spend their days trolling a layoff board...must have been hired from the snake oil factory, and this is the best job ever compared to that.

Join your team? Why would any sane person want to join marketing?

Most ethical company? I guess enough ads and schmoozing can buy that.

You are what we call in the professional world a dongus. Crazy people don't know they are crazy, which is why you ignorant folks are having so much fun on your "team."

1) Stock is about to crash
2) Company has reduced it's headcounty by over 25%
3) Revenues are declining
4) Clients are leaving
5) Some team is having so much "fun" growing the company they are trolling a layoff board. Hey, maybe you can go tout the 5 forces and sell more of the sentient enterprise.

Bonus: Please let me know when TD sells it's product to any the FAANG clients. Hint: You are 4/1 and the 2nd "A" just exited your MS engagement in full and is shopping for a non–TD solution...somehow the others don't need you to start the tech revolution. Or maybe just sell off your business to competitors and see what happens (Hello there IBM!)?

You should join my team. It's brilliant and we have lots of fun. You must just be in a bad area. Time to look around within, lots of good jobs. Growing company, stock riding high. Let the good times roll

After the way I was treated by leadership, I quit with no notice. I don't regret the decision, I've yet to see a more unethical and inept leadership in my entire 3 decade career.

They of course rewarded me by terminating my health care immediately, and then taking 3 weeks to send me a Cobra option that costs $2,200 a month which is NOT including Dental/Vision and has an $8,000 deductible.

Teradata Cares!!!

If you keep hanging around, it will be you next. What is the strategy for keeping Teradata afloat and competitive? Focus on diversity instead of quality? Sure, that will work. NOT. Look at all of the premier customers leaving Teradata or just staying on their current version. Not a lot of new customer investment dollars being thrown Teradata’s way.
